This characterful apartment is in fact located in the former Royal Abbey of L'Éclache, a Cistercian abbey established in Clermont-Ferrand during the second half of the 17th century, in the middle of the reign of Louis XIV. The large vaulted room occupied by the gîte is the former refectory of the sisters. This part of the abbey was built in 1688, hence the name given to the furnished accommodation.
While offering modern comfort and quality services, this place, now completely deconsecrated, has retained its authentic character through a renovation and decoration in an art-deco style, which highlights its remarkable architectural elements.
