"Room was ‘okay’ nothing special, it was also in a totally different building, quite a walk a few lifts to reach. Up to 3 walk around for 5 mins and then another lift. The exterior of the building looked really tired, the photos of the front are doing a lot of heavy lifting. Friendly staff, wouldn’t stay again and the area surrounding the hotel isn’t nice at all."

"My room is on the second floor, but the lift is currently under maintenance, so I had to carry my luggage and bags up and down the stairs. My luggage was quite heavy. I chose to stay here because I was told there was a lift, especially as I had heavy luggage. The room is clean and tidy."

"Location is excellent for Clifton and the hotel is what is says it is. We stayed in a dog-friendly garden room for 1 night. Previously we have stayed several times in the 5* Hotel du Vin Avon Gorge hotel so we can compare the two hotels. Victoria Square is a 3 star hotel and of course is not as well-appointed as Avon Gorge but for the price (being £200 per night cheaper on the Saturday we stayed), in our opinion the Victoria Square is a good option. The receptionist was helpful, the room was clean, and the hotel was peaceful. The bed and the room are more basic than in the Avon Gorge but we had a very comfortable night and spent the difference on a nice dinner with family. Next time we visit Bristol we will choose the Victoria Square - I think that tells the story."

"For the price point it is a good value stay. Room was basic, but bed was comfy and bedding clean. Slightly wiffy smell from the sink, shared bathroom shower needs a scientific degree to get the temperature at Goldilocks level because a micro amount of movement on the control meant Artic cold or Molten Lava hot! Breakfast was OK, but running out of sausages is a basic stock issue! All staff were very polite, and having the 24 hr reception meant my key was safe. I would stay again. 👍"
