April '25 Visit

The house was very clean, Steve was easy to work with, and there are plenty of supplies for us to use. This is the second time we have stayed at this house and improvements have been made. It was the right size for the two couples that stayed there.

Geocaching for Easter

Second time returning to property and planning a third visit. Beds are very comfortable, house is welcoming and well stocked. Always nice sitting on the porch and watching the deer. Home is private but close to attractions.

Excellent Stay!

My husband and I stayed with our dog at this property and had a wonderful time! We have been to the trail many times during peak season, but decided we wanted to do something a little more lowkey and bring our dog. We spent quite a bit of time in the house, reading, watching TV cooking, and all of the amenities that we needed were there. Communication with the property owner, Steve, was also very easy and he was very responsive.Would recommend this cozy home!

Southern Illinois Family Christmas

We had 12 people gather for Christmas and plenty of room for everyone to eat at the table together, plenty of seating in the living area, and plenty of room for everyone to sleep. The owner had all of the kitchen essentials, as well. We even brought a Christmas tree and decorated it for the holiday (inside and out). It was a perfect fit for hosting a large gathering.

Awesome house in the country

Loved that this place was out in the country but only ten minutes from town. Saw a lot of deer. Very clean. Comfortable beds. A lot of dishes and utensils provided. Would definitely stay again

Great place! Super quiet. Perfect country stay.

If you are looking for a nice, quiet rural stay, this is the place! We are rural folks, so always look to be out of town when possible when we travel. This place is perfect - go out on the porch at night and zero lights other than the starts anywhere around. We stayed for a week and don't think we saw more than a handful of cars go by. Plenty of space to walk our pups around. A very short (~5 mile) drive into Anna IL for shopping and places to go. The house was clean and very spacious, we didn't even go into a couple of the rooms, but the place will sleep a lot of people. Kitchen has all the tools needed to cook meals. Host was very attentive and quick to respond. Provided a ton of info upon booking.

Peace and Quiet

If you are looking for peace and quiet in wine country this is definitely the place. We stayed for almost a month and explored the area pretty thoroughly. There is a lot within an hours drive to do in Missouri, Kentucky, and Illinois of course. The host is incredible!!!!

Great Place and Great Location

This property was just what we needed in terms of size for our group of 4 adults, and proximity to all the places we like to visit. It’s situated very close to some great hiking areas and wineries along the trail. The bathrooms and kitchen were stocked with all our needs, the place was very clean and comfortable, and communication was easy and very quick with Steve. We will definitely look to stay here again in the future. Thanks again Steve!

Peaceful retreat.

It was perfect for our family to visit our son at college. Our highlights were how peaceful and beautiful the area is. Very quiet. Only the sounds of nature! We also loved visiting with the horses next door. We would definitely consider staying here again for another visit. Thank you Steve!

Cozy house!

Great home in a great location. Secluded and quiet yet only 15 min to Carbondale. Clean Comfy beds. Ample linens Well stocked kitchen comfy couches. Big kitchen table for meals and games. Plan on returning for sure!! Be sure to check out Fuzzy’s in Cobden 5 min and Giant City State Park

We’d stayed here once before, and it was just as good as last time. The house has a good layout for families, and it sits in a convenient location for the wineries/activities. Also the deer were out every morning/night.

Great house in S. IL for outdoors and wine trail

Conveniently located for Southern IL excursions. Very good privacy on low-traffic road despite open ground. Dark skies for star gazing. Fields, brush, and woods for wildlife viewing from front porch. Comfortable, pretty well-equipped, and well stocked for meals and relaxing indoors. Minor complaints: the well pump was a bit noisy, and the nice garage wasn't usable.
