Market Street Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"Great location and very nice simple room. Few drinks and snacks was nice too. Very helpful and nice staff. Great location for Fringe in August."
"The hotel (and Apex City Center) are right on Grassmarket and in the middle of all you want to see. Take the stairway off Victoria Place and you are right at the Castle. It's a longer walk to Holyrood House and the Parliament but not bad. Many good restaurants right outside the door, any shopping you want. The hotel is modern, with a breakfast that beat anything we could find outside, and at a better price. No air conditioning, but the provided fans cooled the room sufficiently during the heat wave. "
"This hotel has an exceptional location, just a few meters from the train station, which allowed us to get there on foot once we arrived from York. As if that weren't enough, they allowed us to check in early, which helped us make the most of the day. The hotel is located on the iconic Cockburn Street and just around the corner from Mary Kings Close. We also had the opportunity to walk to Victoria Street and nearby places to take photos of Edinburgh Castle. We were also able to walk to several interesting spots in the city, which are very close to the hotel. These included Calton Hill (with its beautiful views), Greyfryars Cemetery, and we were able to say hello to Bobby the dog and Molly the cow at the Edinburgh Museum. All on foot and within short distance, making this hotel a key point for enjoying the city. There are also many options for lunch and breakfast. We didn't choose the hotel breakfast as we had to leave early the next day, so we opted to have breakfast at the airport after security and immigration checks before our flight to Belfast. Excellent place, excellent location, excellent service!"
"Food buffet was good but a bit disorganised. Bed is ok, room spacious. Clean. Hotel is very dated from outside but not as bad inside. Stay was fine really. Location is lovely and quiet and a 15min walk to haymarket"
