Beautiful scenery

Enjoyed an amazing birthday in a beautiful area. The duplex was beautiful, serene, peaceful, exactly what I was looking for. We will be renting again!

Listing has conflicting info. It's titled as entire home but details say just lower area. We had 6 in our group & listing said would accommodate. It wouldve been tight if we didnt have some drop. The bunk beds arent meant for adults, let alone 2 on bottom. More seating needed in living space. Central AC listed-not true. 3 very loud window units needed to run just to get the space comfortable & we also emptied the living room dehumidifier several times. They made the unit musty as they probably need cleaning. Many listing photos of patios, we assumed available for our use. One is to provide direction for the doors to the upper & lower units, one is only accessible from upper, & main patio facing the lake was accessible, however the upper spread all their items out across its entirety so we couldnt. Same with the fire pit, upper used it to party all weekend& left trash/wine bottles. My group felt we needed to stay in our basement room bc we were impeding on their vacation. Recommendation to put a curtain with grommets over the entry for privacy bc you can see entire seating area from outside. We had tons of spiders, mosquitoes, fruit flies, earwigs inside the unit- basically any basement bugs. We didnt leave food out & still found fruit flies in our food. I messaged the owner with an issue with the fridge- never responded. Overall the beach& lake made this a 3 instead of 2. We found several restaurants that were great& close by. Id return to the area but choose different VRBO.

Not what we expected

The original VRBO listing said entire home, but later the details on the Vacasa confirmation said lower unit. We proceeded even after seeing that because the pictures of the house all showed a 3 story house, nice deck, and views of the lake. We assumed from the pictures that the lower level meant the lower level of the house. Instead, this is actually a hastily put together basement apartment. The listing was very misleading and also failed to mention to 88 stairs to get down to the beach. There were people renting the main house who also seemed surprised to be sharing the yard, deck, and beach access, so I assume their listing wasn’t clear either. This might be fine if you were visiting in summer and aren’t planning to spend any time inside. For the price, it does have a beautiful beach.

Breathtaking views, original ornate crown moldings, doors, windows...quite amazing all around! HIDDEN GEM!!! Most of all the history of and around the area. It was a pleasure to enjoy! Thank you Gary! You are the host with THE MOST!
