「The hotel is a 5 minute walk from the ferry terminal. The views are exceptional. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We had one of the larger rooms it was very specious and well appointed. A couple of minor points for improvement is that the water pressure was very low in our rooms and while we were there is was very unseasonably warm and with no screens the bugs do come in. Otherwise a great place to stay with a good restaurant and bar.」

「We loved our two nights stay at Melfort House. It was peaceful idyll that restored us somewhat as we were nearing the end of our road trip through Scotland. Matthew is a wonderful host, and we felt welcome in his home. The breakfast offerings were top notch, and our room and bed were so comfortable. The location was perfect for a day trip to nearby Oban, which should not be missed, particularly for the seafood and Oban Distillery tour. We ended up walking to a nearby restaurant for drinks and their restaurant was booked and had more options. Jay the manager was super friendly and the room was comfortable and the bathrooms newly renovated and clean.」
