We have been to the island numerous times via the cruise ships for the day. This was our first to fly and stay at the island. We chose the Presidente because of its reviews and mainly how great the food reviews were. Our stay was around the end of April with temperatures easily 90 degees and higher. It was HOT. There was a breeze but occasionaly. The hotel is located on the bay side which made the waves calmer and the water was crystal clear. You’ll need water shoes since the water has some rocks. The hotel itself if an older one but has been kept up and was extremely clean. The rooms are in need of new mattresses. The staff was very hospitalable and went above and beyond with every need we had. The food however was only average at best and extremely expensive for what you got. The menu is somewhat limited; however, if you like octopus, this is your place. The breakfast buffet was around $33 person and they do have a menu option. There were lots of birds in the morning and in fact they have a fowl contol (birdman) person walking around with a Hawk keeping them at bay. If you ate at one of the two specialaty restuarnants your meal without drinks was around $125 per couple. We ended up spending $1,200 on food/drinks for a seven-day/six-night stay. This resort does not offer an all-inclusive option and if it had, this stay would have been better. Great snorkel access right off the property and snorkel excursions that leave right from their dock - included breakfast is amazing - room views very nice and room amenities were terrific - very clean and nicely updated - I appreciated that pool was not too crowded and music was not too loud thankfully . Pool bar service a bit slow Service at the resort restaurants was amazing … food was just average for a five star hotel but better than the other places we ate in Mexico

Property is very nice. Room was excellent and big with comfortable beds. Water and reef are awesome for snorkeling. I liked the areas to the left and right of the property for relaxing and snorkeling. Wasnt a huge fan of the "beach" area. Restaurants are so expensive and food is just ok. This was a pretty big issue for us. Theres not much close-by so you are kind of stuck there with the food options and prices they have. Cozumel in general is kind of dumpy and all activities are geared toward cruise day trippers. I wouldnt recommend staying more than 5 nights. However, if you do have to stay in Cozumel, I would recommend this hotel. Just bring some snacks...

The resort is better than it looks in pictures. Service was prompt and excellent throughout. We travelled with our older parents and little kids and everyone had a great time. Water is crystal clear and calm. We were in the garden view rooms across from the second “quiet” pool, which happened to be heated, it was just perfect. Worked out better than being in ocean front rooms thanks to the calm and tranquil atmosphere. Each room has a large patio. The resort was unlike other big resorts that tend to be so busy and commercial. No wait times for dinner, or any meal service. Will definitely visit again!
