In summer, the same area opens up to hiking and biking trails, with access right from the base and connections to some of Crested Butte’s best singletrack. Events, live music, and outdoor dining bring a steady energy to the area without it ever feeling overwhelming.
Whether you’re here for snow or sun, it’s a spot that keeps things simple and lets you spend more time outside.
Welcome to Axtell #319 — one of the most walkable, ski-in & ski-out condos at Crested Butte Mountain Resort.
Step outside and you are steps from the Silver Queen Lift. Not "close to the mountain", at the base of it. No driving, no shuttles to catch, no early alarm set for parking. Strap in and go. Come back mid-day to reset, then head right back out. The mountain is always right there.
The condo is on the third floor, with access via stairs from both the parking side and the slope side, there is no elevator in the building, so plan accordingly.
Inside, the bedroom has a king bed for a solid night's rest after a full day out. The living area includes a full sofa bed and a twin pull-out, making this a comfortable option for families or groups of up to four. The kitchen is fully stocked for cooking, including coffee, full cookware, and dining space. When you'd rather head out, base-area restaurants, rentals, and shops are steps from the front door.
The southwest-facing porch is where the unit really shines. It catches the afternoon sun right when you want it most, after a morning on the mountain, there's no better spot to kick back, crack something cold, and let the day wind down. Mountains stretch out in every direction and the light at that hour is hard to beat. True après-ski, no driving required.
Building amenities include ground-floor ski and bike storage, so mornings are fast and gear stays out of the condo. The communal outdoor hot tub is ideal for unwinding after a long day on the mountain. Please note it may close seasonally during spring and fall for maintenance.
One on-site parking space is included for your stay. Mt. Crested Butte has limited overnight parking, so if you're arriving with a second vehicle, plan to use Town of Crested Butte parking. The free Mountain Express shuttle stops at the transit center a short walk away and runs consistently throughout the day, connecting you to Elk Avenue, restaurants, and everything in between.
Summer at Axtell #319: The base area doesn't slow down when the snow melts. World-class mountain biking trails start right outside, the lift runs all summer for hikers and riders, and Mountaineer Square hosts free weekly concerts just steps away. The same southwest porch that's perfect for après becomes your front-row seat to long Colorado summer evenings.
This is a no-fuss, genuinely well-located base for Crested Butte, winter or summer. Walk out the door and the mountain is right there.

Getting around is easy from here. The free Mountain Express shuttle stops right on Snowmass Road, just off the parking lot (summer) and in the Mountaineer Square in the base area (year round), making it simple to hop on and head into town. In the winter the condo loop bus takes you to the base from Snowmass road, connecting you with the Mountain Express.
The shuttle runs year-round, with frequent service in summer and winter and a slightly reduced but still reliable schedule in shoulder seasons. It’s a quick ride into downtown Crested Butte for restaurants, shops, Elk Avenue, and summer events, no need to drive or deal with parking.
If you prefer to stay close, you’re already in the base area, with lifts, trails, dining, and amenities just steps away.
