We do have 2 black cats that take care of any varmint issues that may arrive from time to time. Most guest enjoy the fact that we are very friendly and remember new guest names. That's our southern hospitality. Our regulars also try to introduce you to other people only to make you fill welcome. In all our information we do say we are BYOB but, if you did not get that far being anxious to book your stay you probably overlooked that information. The resort is only 2 miles away from 2 gas stations that sell beer. Plus we have a company that services us with pick up and delivery of any type liquor you prefer. Camping Chalets are adorable and we advertise having to use the bathhouse. We have lots of extra social amenities regular hotels do not provide. Staying on property is what most guest want. May I suggest the "Secret Room" on your next visit. It does have it's own bath, dressing room, and beautiful antique furniture plus private entrance.

We do not claim to have 5 star property or accommodations. Sometimes conditions are in the eyes of the beholder. Our facilities are rustically chic. We do not pretend to be anything else. A 100% guarantee is offered to guest that may have venue issues or expect anything than what is offered at Pandora's Forest. Rooms are professionally decorated in themes. Photos are on booking sites and our web site. Maybe you were expecting a room such as a major chain would have. The lodge is operated as a bed and breakfast. Our requirements to operate are not like the big chain hotels. We have a feeling of home The decorations throughout the lodge are anything but thrift store nick knacks. Original paintings hang in the foyer that are worth several thousand dollars, along with antique tables adorned with candle holders, antique candle statues and seasonal flowers. Maybe this was not of your taste. Bed changes and room cleaning are on an as requested by the occupant. Sometimes things like tissue are forgotten. We are committed to protecting the environment. Cleaning rooms once and using bed sheets more than once during a multiple nights stay saves hundreds of pounds of detergent and thousand of gallons of water each year along with employee time. Pandora's Cafe has a short order menu. Like many of the chain hotels we also incorporate the lobby with the cafe or breakfast place but, each has its own area. Pandora's Forest sits 1/4 mile down a gravel road through the forest. Our property is located at the end of the road. The for 'lease signs' are actually "For Sale" signs on the property seen on Hwy 70 in front of Pandora's Property. It has nothing to do with us. We have a right a way to use the road. Lots of guest and repeat visitors make reservations with us every year and have a great time. I am sorry you were disappointed in your stay.

I am so sorry you felt our resort was outdated. The Resort is rusticly chic in the middle of the woods. The lodge was built in the early 90's and the resort itself began in the late 40's by the Doctors and Scientists from Oak Ridge. We do not claim to be a 5 star facility. We are constantly remodeling even the grounds. We chose to keep our Resort more natural. It may not be everyone's cup of tea. Please note the 100% guarantee that's offered. Perhaps you will visit again in the future and see the many changes that are constantly made.

Thank you for your review. Our breakfast during the week is continental consisting of bagels, english muffins, boiled eggs, cereals and fruit. Saturdays and Sundays are full breakfast, gravy and biscuits, scrambled eggs, cheese omelettes, fried potatoes, etc. Our upstairs bathrooms have locks that you can use for that very private time we all need. We inform our guest of the upstairs bathrooms having locks, sorry if you did not know. It was an oversite. Just know that when you decide to visit again your privacy is addressed.
