"I recently stayed at the Kontiki Beach Resort and overall I enjoyed my stay and would return, mainly because the location is excellent. Being right next to Mambo Beach was definitely the highlight — everything was convenient, lively, and beautiful.
The room itself was nice and comfortable, but there were a few issues. The lighting in the room was very dim, and I also didn’t like that the shower had no door because the bathroom floor would get soaked after every shower.
The staff experience was mixed. Some employees were fine, but the ladies working at the beach area had poor attitudes and came across as sarcastic when I simply asked where to get towels. Customer service could definitely be improved.
Breakfast was okay — not the greatest selection or quality — but since it was included for free, I can’t complain too much.
One thing that really bothered me was finding a huge roach inside an open bag of candy I had left on the counter in my room. That was definitely unpleasant and something the resort should address.
Overall, despite a few negatives, I still enjoyed the resort because of the amazing location and nice atmosphere. With improvements in customer service, room design, and pest control, this place could easily be even better."
