"Someone’s car alarm went off under my 2nd story window at 4 am. Several calls to the lobby went unanswered, so I got dressed and went down in person. When I told the night auditor the problem he kind of shrugged, said nobody else had complained, and that he didn’t think much could be done. I insisted he find the owner in the hotel and have he/she turn it off. I went back to my room and the thing kept blasting round after round of piercing noise for another half hour. So I went again and found him putting out pastries for the coming breakfast service. I asked him about the alarm and he said he went out there but didn’t hear it. So I told him it came in cycles interrupted by periods of silence. I then went out there myself, snapped pictures of the offending car and license plate, and took them inside to the night auditor to find the guest and get the alarm turned off. The night auditor behaved like he didn’t give a rats ass and wanted to do as little about the problem as he could get away with. I think he just wanted me to give up and go away. I basically had to force him to deal with it. I went back to my room for the 2nd time, and soon thereafter the alarm did go off. I think you need a new night auditor."
