Lockview Motel

"The room and bathroom were clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly, courteous and helpful. We had a nice breakfast. And they aren't kidding when they say "lock view"! It is an easy walk across the street to the visitor center where you can watch ships, some very large, passing through the locks. I would definitely stay here again."

"We checked in just after 6pm for a 2 night stay. We got a call of a family emergency and had to check to check out 3 hours later. I fully expected to pay for the first night but not the second. The front desk said I needed to contact Expedia to get a refund for the second night because I paid through them. I contacted Expedia while driving home and was told the hotel would not refund the second night. Hmmmm...."

"We loved staying here so much that we extended our trip an extra day. Incredible slice of heaven all to ourselves. It’s difficult to find your own beach access right out the back door, but this is the place! I can’t emphasize how clean and welcoming the cabin is. Please do not having to take a ferry steer you away from this great place, it is very easy. We canoed, we sunbathed, we had a blast. We look forward to making Dan’s place an annual trip!"

"The hotel lobby looked like a storage area. I'm not sure if they're remodeling or not. The building could use some TLC, but our room seemed to be clean. The breakfast had quite a few options and there was someone keeping things stocked. It reminded me of any Best Western I've ever stayed at, kind of old and worn. The biggest concern for me was the sign on a door next to the lobby that said, "Door is not locked, turn handle and pull." It was a door that should have been locked for after hours entry. This is the second Best Western that I have seen an entry door that isn't locked when it should have been."
