"This is the third time we have stayed at the black bear lodge in Stratton and every time we stay our experience is the same.. excellent. The staff are all so nice and accommodating, the property is clean and the breakfast is perfect. The rooms are comfortable and clean, it really is the perfect place to stay in Vermont. "Very old property but nicely renovated. A bit too pricey for the accommodation. The included breakfast was good. I was forced to book late because my booking in Chester cancelled and left me with little time or choice. I was told it was due to renovations not complete. Not ideal. I do not think reservations should be accepted if the property is not ready for occupancy."

"I will start with the negatives and close with the positives. I wasn't convinced the towels were clean and there was literally only one each for us, seemed there was no attention to detail with cleaning (lots of hair and dust in corners in bathroom, 1/2 used sugar packet in the selection at the coffeemaker, bed skirt dragging on the floor, etc.), breakfast was lame, but I get it, because it's covid. For the positives, location was AWESOME, the room was super spacious with updated climate...

"My husband and I were traveling to Vermont for one night stay. We selected this property because it had pretty rooms. Unfortunately that’s not what we received. Checking in our reservation could not be found. Luckily the desk clerk was able to figure out a repeated mistake. She gave us the key to room #60. We expected a beautiful room with 2 beds. What we got was a suite that had badly stained carpet, furniture that needed to be replaced , water stained bathroom walls and dirty bathroom floors....

"My family really enjoyed this Lake House. The beautiful views of the lake were breathtaking. The house had everything we needed for preparing meals. The kitchen was functional and generally well equipped. The beds in the house were particularly comfortable. We enjoyed early morning coffee on the deck with perfect views of the lake. The location was great. Lots of wonderful hiking trials in close proximity. My only suggestion to the owners is to give the house a good deep cleaning. Nonetheless,...

"Amazing! Cannot get a better location! So close to everything! Quick walk to village shops and slopes. Very clean. Lots more room than I was expecting for two big 17 year old boys and parents. Kids had their own bedroom, bathroom and storage area on main floor, adult had master suite with own bathroom upstairs. Plenty of room in kitchen and family room. The only complaint is that hotels hot tubs and pool were over run with too many little kids. "
