The Stables was very cosy and comfortable. We were particularly impressed by the welcome pack - butter, bread, crisps and both a bottle of Prosecco but also sherry! The Stables is a beautifully renovated cottage with lovely features in it. Perfect if, on a bad-weather day, you wish to stay indoors and rest comfortably. There are plenty of places of all varieties to visit in easy driving distance from the cottage and also local walks in the village locality itself. The care and attention from the owner was fabulous. we felt very well looked after and communicated with. We very much enjoyed our stay at the stables.

We very much enjoyed our stay at the stables. Comfortable and spacious with everything that you need. It is an excellent location for walking in the local area without having to get in the car. Pubs of various quality within easy reach. Great base for exploring Teesdale and County Durham. It comes with WiFi but please note it is Rural quality. The permanent residents in the village are striving to improve this situation.

This is a lovely cottage in a quiet, rural area, perfect for a relaxing holiday. The cottage is very well equipped and Penny is a lovely host who always spoils our son with little gifts - including craft activities and surprising him with an Easter egg hunt. There is also a good selection of children's games in the cottage. The area is beautiful, with many attractions to visit close by.

Another excellent stay at The Stables, our third this year. Always spotlessly clean, warm and very homely. Penny always thinks of our young son, and this time put out pumpkins for him to carve and a Hallowe'en themed crafting kit, a really kind and thoughtful touch which he really enjoyed. Thank you Penny!
