This was our first trip to Dauphin Island and Starfish Cottage is one of the reason we will be returning. Don’t let the small square footage deter you. We are a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 teenagers) and there was plenty of room. Living has 2 couches and a chair and ottoman. The layout is very open and no wasted space. Stackable washer and dryer is in the bathroom. Large deck and great space under the house to hangout. The property was clean and the beds and furniture were comfortable. Kitchen is fully equipped. The only thing missing is a dishwasher but comes with a drying rack and towels and soap and sponge. Location is as great as I was in the middle of the island so getting anywhere is as very quick.

Good morning, I gave the place we stayed at a week since we go home and they still haven’t made our horrible stay right. We got there on Monday, April 1. We got groceries on our way in. The next morning our stuff in the freezer was melted and the fridge was less than where it should be. It took them until Wednesday to come out. So, not only did we loose our food, but had to spend even more money on going out. VACASA was horrible to talk with or get a hold of anyone. I asked for a credit, because I think it’s only fiat since we were out so much more money. The second thing, the description said “ Don't worry about lengthy clean-ups here: we have a dishwasher for your convenience.” There was NOT a dishwasher. When on vacation, it’s nice to have that, especially when the description said that. I asked VACASA about it and nothing, the only thing they did was change the description and tell me, “The description doesn’t list that.” I was smart enough to take a video screenshot of the listing where is shows that is was supposed to have one. Can you please look into all of this? We will NEVER use VACASA again, and you guys should NOT represent them. Thank you, Josh/Jess

Just what we needed to unplug. Rest and relaxation was our priority for this trip and we had just that. The neighborhood was quiet and laid back. The property was just as described. The bed was comfortable for me which is high on my list. The only suggestions I would have is to include info on the amenities list that you will need cone coffee filters #4 for coffee maker. It would also be helpful to provide a hair dryer. We did visit the bakery and took the ferry over to Gulf Shores for some great seafood at the Original Oyster House Boardwalk location Would definitely book the Starfish Cottage again.
