Spacious House

We had 6 adults during our stay at the property. Plenty of room for all 6 of us. House was very clean and appreciate the 2 car garage to store our bags and gear. Will advise the house has baseboard heaters, so it was tough to keep the house at a constant warm temperature during our stay. The two cars we brought up had 4-wheel drive, but it did snow and was tough to get to the property with the roads unplowed. Overall great property for the 6 of us.

Hideaway

This is a very nice house and is nestled on the side of the mountain. Lots of wildlife and nice and quiet. Very comfortable amenities and the hot tub was nice after a long day.

Beautiful!

Allowed us to stay in the mountains while being quick access to Red Rocks and Denver. Little town of Evergreen was great place to hangout.

Evergreen Mountain House

We had a great stay for a wedding in Evergreen. It was about 15 minutes to Evergreen Lakehouse. The road up to the house is narrow and steep, but it was fine in the Summer months. We enjoyed the hot tub! The shower for the master room is difficult! Hard to keep on good temperature.

Incredible place for a trip to red rocks

Absolutely adored the place. We were warned about the road up and it was definitely not paved but also not scary or anything. Just beautiful. We saw deer, chipmunks, and gorgeous sunsets from the windows of the house. The hot tub was absolutely essential after a long day of hiking. The house was perfect and beautiful. Close enough to red rocks and far enough away from Denver city center to see gorgeous stars, wildlife, etc. Even though it’s the dead of summer we were comfortable.

Mountain retreat.

Great views and comfortable home. Furniture, beds were very comfortable and modern however the house itself is vintage 1980. Please be forewarned there is no central heat, each room relies upon small wall space heaters and they under perform which made it quite challenging to stay warm during our stay. Main living room has a wood burning fireplace which helped but you have to continually keep it going otherwise that room is a icebox. Overall we enjoyed our stay and you definitely need a 4 wheel drive to get in and out of house during the winter.

CO Stay

We originally booked another home but there was an issue with it that made us have to book another home. Bryan was very helpful with providing us with an alternate home. The Hideaway was a nice home. It has a master with a king bed, another room with a queen bed and a third bedroom with a pull out sofa and bunk beds. The master and bunk bedroom share a bathroom upstairs. The queen bedroom is on the main floor and has a bathroom attached. The house was pretty chilly when we arrived but we found the wall heaters and lit a fire to warm up the home. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything you would need if you wanted to cook. We did not use the hot tub (located on an upper balcony off the master bath). The view is ok, not great, not bad. **The house is off I70 a short bit but we did not hear any highway noise. Once you exit the highway, you go a short distance before you turn on a gravel road. A 4WD or AWD is a MUST as the road to get to this home is steep at points and winds back and forth up the mountain!!! There were some good restaurants to go to in Evergreen. It's about 30-45 minutes to get to Red Rocks.

Don't use the hot tub

There are several issues at this property that need attention. Our stay was short so we were able to work around these issues, however, had our trip been scheduled for longer, I would have left. Here are the issues that we encountered that should be rectified: 1. Ice maker and water dispenser in the fridge does not work properly. Water pours out but it is very slow. We had to grab the ice by opening the freezer because it would not dispense the ice. 2. The downstairs toilet would flush some of the time but not always. My fiancé owns a construction company so he fixed it a few times before we gave up on doing that, after all we were on vacation 3. Heat, when we arrived it was 55 degrees in the house. All the heaters were turned down so low that it took all night and running both fireplaces before it warmed up the home. After a long day of travel, it would have been nice to walk into a warm cozy place 4. The wood supply, while you did a good job of addressing this issue, it was still something that we had to work through. It would have nice to have that full stocked before our arrival 5. The entry door does not stay latched unless locked. We found this out the hard way when we couldn’t understand why it wasn’t staying warm, come to find out the door blew open because it wasn’t locked 6. Upstairs shower is a big pain, it just keeps turning and turning so it was very difficult to find the correct temperature and then to get both shower heads warm at the same time was nearly impossible. We only got that to work properly once All the issues listed above were inconveniences, however, the hot tub is a big concern and the reason in which I am reaching out to you. A property with a hot tub was one of the top requirements we had and part of the reason we chose this property. We didn’t make our way to the hot tub until Friday morning only to be completely appalled by the condition of the tub. Upon entering we looked down at that the intake filters to find large amounts of debris stuck to the filter. Particles of who knows what, were floating all over the tub. We pulled one filter out and were planning to clean it, but the smell was so bad that my fiancé began to vomit. That hot tub should not be used until a full drain and cleanse is done! Reflecting on our stay, I did not receive the experience I expected due to the issues at this property which did affect our vacation.

Hide-A-Way in Evergreen

They aren't kidding - it's definitely a "hideway". When they say you need a 4-wheel drive vehicle to get there between November and April, they aren't kidding. We went for my kid's college graduation over May 7 - May 11 and would have not been able to make it there without 4-wheel LOW drive, as they had just gotten 10 inches of snow the few days before. All-wheel drive would not have worked - we never would have made it up the road. We did, but once we got there, we had no code to get into the house. Fortunately, I was able to get a hold of someone with iTrip to get it for us. So be wary of using this house for any time during those months if you don't feel comfortable driving in snow on an unmaintained dirt county road that is STEEP with significant switchbacks. The house was nice but not well-maintained in my experience for a VRBO. Firstly, it's cold - even in May and with the small heaters and fireplaces they provide. Just be ready to make fires and use blankets. If you don't know how to make a fire, you're in trouble, and the provided wood and accessories were very lacking in terms of making it easy for the guests. They tell you to make a fire downstairs but give you nothing to start the fire except small butane lighters and wood that is 8 inches thick. Secondly, the essentials are sparse. It had beds for at least 8 but only supplied towels for 5-6 six of us, so we had to share towels. Fun. The kitchen is nice but had little in the way of what you need to cook a meal there. We struggled to make spaghetti one night or scrambled eggs in the morning due to a lack of normal cooking essentials. Unacceptable in my opinion for what we paid. It's a nice place, but this is NOT the place for the inexperienced traveller just looking for a nice, easy place to stay. We made it work, but we had to work to make it so. WAY overpriced for what we got......

Fantastic trip

This house was a lovely place to stay for my family. It got pretty cold, so we ran both fireplaces which was great ambiance. They are not kidding when they say you need AWD/4x4 to get up there! Well-stocked kitchen. Couldn’t get the upstairs shower to work, but the main floor shower was fine. Also, the hot tub needed to be cleaned and filled, as the water smelled a little off/wasn’t clear and side jets weren’t spraying strongly. But, it was good enough.

Beautiful but...

This property has the potential to be 5 stars with beautiful views and a very comfortable and chic seating area. We really enjoyed sitting in the den by the fire and looking out at the mountains. However, we were disappointed to find the rest of the home needs a good bit of routine maintenance and cleaning that hasn't been done, which distracted from our overall enjoyment. Still a great place but hope the other issues get addressed.

September Stay

We booked the property with hopes of lots of outdoor fun & this property didn't disappoint! Just a half mile up the mountain (and back down a bit) is a resouvoir with beautiful views! The hot tub was a favorite along with lots of UNO games! I wasn't prepared for all the stairs, but once we got settled in they weren't a problem. All in all we adoredthe gorgeous views, and the adventures the area provided!

Perfect Getaway

From the time of arrival we were more than pleased with this mountain escape. The house was tucked in the trees atop a short climb, the views were great and the amenities suited our needs. The centralized location allowed us to explore all of the mountain towns on our list. We will be back to further the exploration. Until next time, we 10/10 recommend.
