Information on site needs updating.
Not as descibed on hotels.com. There is no restaurant and therefore no breakfast. There is no terrace. Photos must be really old. First room assigned smelled of smoking and to their credit they did swop our room. All a bit dated but it was cheap so you get what you pay for.

Very Relaxing and the room was cleaned and Refreshed Plenty of food at rear of hotel. We hired a scooter from the hotel which was great But Note: No more visa given at boarder

No hot water for shower, the shower head was broken and sprayed over half the bathroom, one window wouldn't close all the way, the staff made it clear that guests were unwelcome. I think there was supposed to be breakfast included but I wanted no part of it. .I went to a little bakery on the main street instead. On the plus side the location is good and the room was spacious and clean.

Reasonable hotel
The hotel is one of the larger budget ones with a good central location. Very little English is spoken so be prepared to signal what you need. We attempted to get the breakfast but after waiting around the empty lobby/front desk for 5 mins gave up and went and bought our own elsewhere. The rooms are massive, the hotel feels a little dated and there is definitely smoking in the lobby and hallways. Overall this isn’t an amazing hotel but it’s still ahead of much of its budget competition in this area.

The location is perfect to walk to all the sites important to the Siege of Dien Bien Phu. The restaurant and balconies on each floor overlook the river and you will see the planes which fly in two times a day. It’s easy to imagine the planes which supplied the French with aid during the battle using the same airfield in 1954. The market and a street of restaurants are within two minutes walk. A comfortable stay.

Decent hotel in DBP. Better than expected.

Kind of OK.....
Check in was friendly - then we discovered we had been given a poor room with no view as opposed to a De Luxe River View room. Complained - they said we could move in 2 hrs. Went out - came back in 2 hours and there was a different non English speaking receptionist on who did not know what was happening - but all our luggage was gone ! She gave us a key to a room - went up and there was someone in there (She was basically guessing). Eventually after trying various keys and rooms we found our luggage in a better room ! Be warned - we found all the room keys in reception with no one watching them - not v secure. The room was OK (Well the river view) and well worth the money - comfy with good wifi. Breakfast was just about passable. All in all it was cheap and fairly comfy so we can't complain too much - but I suspect they tried to give us a really poor room and give the good room we paid for to someone else which is sharp practice.

Given the isolation of Dien Bien this hotel is of a very good standard. With limited English the staff made every effort to please. Safe and secure. Walking distance to eating area and main attractions. Breakfast is basic but filling. All up great value for what you pay.

Excellent value hotel
We were staying in Dien Bien Phu to pass through to Laos. We chose the hotel based on reviews and it exceeded expectations. Tip for getting advice - have a translation App on your phone if you can. Our experience was the person with the best advice was not necessarily the person with the best English! Additionally, it was very difficult to get information about crossing into Laos from Vietnam but this hotel help and was able to source a taxi able to take us over the border to Muang Khua. Many thanks.

We spent one night and caught a 0530 bus. They even made us breakfast to go!!! Very nice modern hotel in a quiet spot. The staff and service were excellent.

One of the better choices in Dien Bien Phu
We only stopped here for one night to see the 1953/54 war sites. We flew in from Hanoi and flew back the next day so had about 24 hours in DBP in total. We saw everything there was to see on the first day and spent the second day just killing time and relaxing. This hotel is in a great location for sightseeing and for eating options as well. It is not fancy by any stretch, but perfectly adequate. The room was large, WiFi was strong, bed was enormous and comfortable and the A/C didn't fail us thankfully as it was very hot outside. The TV had good reception and a couple of English speaking channels. On the downside we had no hot water but as it was so hot out we didn't care too much. The bathroom had a bit of a foul smell too so we made sure the door to it was closed at all times. We didn't partake in the breakfast that was included, we ate out instead. At about 10am a staff member knocked on our door and mimed if we wanted breakfast which was very sweet I thought.

Comfortable room, quiet hotel
We only stayed here one night, but found the Hotel to be clean and in a quiet street close to a number of restaurants and about 5min away from the bus station. The reception staff spoke limited English but were very helpful and polite. We had advised them we were catching a 5.30am bus the next morning so would not require breakfast, however when we handed over our key the man in reception gave us hot scrambled egg rolls and bottles of water. Much appreciated.

Great place, very nice staff
Big room, very clean, front desk guy was very nice and helpful, booked the bus for Laos for us. At 5:15am, a breakfast to go was ready and the front desk guy drove us to the bus station (without asking for any of this).

Had a great night here.
Hotel was clean and in a good location Staff were very helpful in booking our bus on to Laos even though English was limited. More than made up for it with pleasantness of staff. They put on early breakfast for us and came to the bus station with us to negotiate the tickets. Highly recommend to stay here.

Very good hotel!
Everything was perfect at ruby hotel. It was clean, comfortable and the room was big! Staff was very friendl, they booked bus tickets for us, bring us at the bus station on the early morning, currency exchange at honest rate! It was a very nice stay in dien bien phu for a night!

ベッドの上掛けがむき出しの毛布だけであり、清潔なシーツ等がなかった点がマイナス。それを指摘しても、シーツはないという回答であった。 朝食が、フランスパン２個、玉子２つを使った料理(１日目は目玉焼き、２日はプレーンオムレツ)、バター、ジャム、果物少し(１日目はドラゴンフルーツ数切れ、２日目はスイカ数切れ)のみであった。この地方ではこれが当たり前なのかも知れないが、それを表示すべき。 最初に部屋に案内された時に、歯ブラシやせっけんがなく、連絡したら持ってきた。 しかし、市場や各施設に近い、家族経営で一生懸命やっているのは伝わってきたので、最初からその気であれば決していやなホテルではない。また、機会があれば宿泊するつもりである。

Nous sommes arrivés à 4h par bus de nuit et quelqu'un était sur place pour nous ouvrir. Ne parlait pas vraiment anglais mais le lendemain une femme responsable nius a donné la carte de la ville et prêté les parapluies. Pas de petit déjeuner avant 7h par contre.

Gutes Preis-Leistung Verhältnis
Leider sprach die nette Dame an der Rezeption nur ein paar wenige Worte englisch. Trotzdem konnte sie uns behilflich sein bei der Planung der Weiterreise. Wir mussten sehr früh zum Bus und sie hatte extra Frühstückspakete gemacht! Das Hotel ist ruhig gelegen und das Preis-Leistungs Verhältnis stimmt absolut! Es gibt aber nähere Hotels am Busbahnhof.
