"Extremely comfortable home with a great sense of history. I booked for four days to take my four adult children and my teenage grandson away to celebrate a birthday. We enjoyed some lovely walks and explored the castle and church. In the evenings we played board games in the cosy sitting room and the formal dining room made mealtimes special. "It's lovely to stay at an independent hotel rather than one of the chains, and this hotel retains the age and character of it's surroundings. Our room was large and comfortable and everything was spotlessly clean. From the quirky staircases to the charasmatic manager, this was a joy to stay in. Breakfast was outstanding, definately not the greasy help yourself job that is so common now. Parking is a little challenging, especially if your car is on the longer side, but that just reflects the nature of the town, and we were able to park a short distance away for a small fee. Would definitely come here again!"
