「I stay at the George every week, and it never disappoints. The staff has become my 2nd family during the week. They are wonderful. Beautifully designed lobby level. The rooms are not high design like the lower level, but they are very attractive and well appointed. Outdoor bar is really fun, well designed and has a great staff. The Independent restaurant on site is also very good and offers an elevated dining experience while the outside bar, Eliza's, offers appetizers, burgers, good sides...

「didn't like anything about the property. It took us 3 rooms until we finally got one that was acceptable. The first room was supposed to be handicapped but it wasn't and had a lot of mold on the bathroom wall. The sink in the second room didn't drain. All around the outside there was cracked cement, rust and unpainted surfaces. The so-called breakfast had apples that looked like they were from last fall. The only good thing was that the desk clerk, Dora, did her best to accommodate us.」

「The place is definitely run down, but seemed clean enough. The air conditioning in the room was super loud-lots of rattling. The tv remote didn’t work (neither did the room phone), but the girl from the front desk came to replace the remote. The room didn’t have any towels. When I went down to ask for one, I was told they didn’t have any clean. I had to specifically ask for a washcloth or paper towels to be able to dry my hands. It was fine for a one night stay.」

「We had a great stay here. It is a breathtaking property! I live in New Orleans and have never seen this much Spanish Moss in my life. The finishes in the cabins are gorgeous and the little backyard with a hot tub and string lights was awesome. The resident outdoor kitties were the highlight, though!」
