Sehr saubere, wunderschöne kleine Wohnung mit einem ganz besonderem Charakter. Mit dem Bus gut zu erreichen. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten nicht in der unmittelbaren Nähe, jedoch mit einem kleinen Fußmarsch zu erreichen. Die Unterkunft ist auf jeden Fall empfehlenswert und würden wird auch bei einem weiteren Besuch wieder buchen.

We had a lovely stay in this house full of character. The location is great for reaching central Dublin but you still feel removed from the hustle and bustle. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen well stocked with all we needed to cook. Billy was a fantastic host and was really helpful when we required a late check out.

This cottage was exactly as-pictured and described. A truly unique gem hidden away in the docklands which served as a wonderful home-base during our Dublin adventures. The host was very responsive and courteous and check-in was seamless. As with other comments, the location is unique and can be a bit tricky to find, but the instructions are clear and everyone seemed to find us just fine (I wish we had had more time to explore the docklands area more on foot, it looked so interesting). Once we mastered the bus system, it was an easy travel to downtown either on the new S2 bus or through the park to the other lines in Ringsend village and we felt safe walking to and from bus stops. Billy’s guidance and recommendations were fantastic. The beds were comfortable and the cottage was clean and tidy.

It was just as described but also had a super awesome book collection! If you stay here, consider walking out to the lighthouse. It took us a bit to figure out the heat since there is an on/off switch to the whole setup, but that is something most people probably would have figured out quicker than we did. It was a beautiful place, and walkable to bus and train which we used instead of driving. The host was very responsive as well. We would love to visit again!

The cottage was great and very charming. The location is just not very close to any restaurants or other city activities. It is very easy to get a taxi/uber so that’s a plus. You can also walk to many fantastic areas in Dublin but each walk is 30/40 minutes or more to get to some of the more popular areas (local city bus and train stops are within walking distance). Also, it is right next to the port harbor where they load ships so it can be a little noisy at times. This is still a very good option for staying in Dublin even with these caveats. The decor is excellent and it has all the amenities that travelers need.

William was a great and accommodating host! The property is charming and is perfect for two travelers. Despite being next to a shipyard, it’s very quiet. Beds were comfortable, place was clean, and we were grateful to have a spot to cook ourselves dinner. We also enjoyed the decor of the home and the large collection of books. Although it was not a problem for us, travelers should note that this property is not in Dublin city center and requires you to commute 30 min via bus into the city. The benefit of it being removed from the city is that it’s not in a busy neighborhood and is very quiet!

My friend and I had a wonderful week at the Dublin Horse Show and Billy’s place was great! The first night we both slept 10 hours - that’s how comfortable the beds are.We walked (or took the bus) to the show @ RDS everyday, walked into Dublin proper (O’Connell St area), and drove to Dalkey to jump in the sea at Forty Foot, and back down later for dinner. We loved the cottage, the location and the history of it all so much. Billy is a perfect host with quick friendly communication, and we’d stay there again in a heartbeat.

Walking home - I believe the 3rd chimney from the left belongs to the cottage.

Interessantes Haus mit guter Ausstattung

Im Vorfeld wurde alles gut beschrieben und den Schlüssel konnten wir der Schlüsselbox entnehmen. Das Haus war sauber, abgesehen von der vollen Geschirrspülmaschine mit verschmutztem Geschirr. Das kann passieren und beeinflusst unsere Bewertung nicht. Die Fenster halten die Außengeräusche vom ab und zu betriebenen Containerverladeplatz gut ab. Auf der Straße vor dem Haus gibt es fast keinen Verkehr. Ins Zentrum sind es ca. 4km, die wir gelaufen sind. ÖPNV gibt es in der Nähe. Parkplatz im Innenhof konnten wir auch mit unseren California T6.1 nutzen.

Geschmackvoll eingerichtet und doch leider nicht wie erwartet: nicht sehr sauber, überraschend industrielle Lage. Leider nur zwei Sessel und daher ungemütlich für mehr Personen. Keine Steckdosen im Bad, kein Kleiderschrank, um Kleider aufzuhängen. Drucker und Pool in Beschreibung, aber nicht vorhanden - es gab nur ein paar Tage einen aufblasbarer Kinderpool. Vermieter antwortete schnell - aber nicht auf Fragen nach Drucker und Pool. Das Verhältnis von Preis und Leistung für uns absolut nicht stimmig, leider zu teuer für das Gesamterlebnis - wir hatten in London eine tollere und günstigere Unterkunft. Daher leider die erste Enttäuschung mit Vrbo / Fewo-Direkt in vielen Jahren.

We had trouble finding the appartment on first go. My navigators (wife and 2 daughters )were yelling directions because my ears were plugged from flight. There are 2 Pigion House Roads separated by a toll roadIf you do not put 74 in the directions it will bring you to the other Pigeon House Rd.Once we got that straight the accomadation were what we needed. Taxis came within 5 mins of putting in order.

The Surprising Pleasure of Staying Next to a Dockyard

The cottage is attractively renovated and cosy. William, the host, was very communicative and helpful before our stay (we needed to add another day, but the cottage was already booked for that day, so William found a nearby hotel with availability for us). Useful things for guests to know: 1) Uber/taxi drivers may have a hard time finding the address. It helps to tell the driver that it's around the corner from Deeke's Diner and facing one side of the dockyards; 2) Ask William to check the inventory of necessities (we had to immediately go out and buy toilet paper); 3) the narrow stairs may present a challenge to anyone with impaired mobility, so be aware of that issue; 4) despite being right next to an active dockyards, it's a quiet location and it was fascinating to watch the freight loading activities; 5) the cottage is in an out-of-the way corner of the city but is only a 6 minute walk to the bus stop. We used the bus to travel into the city regularly; and 6) we highly recommend Khushee, a wonderful Indian restaurant in Sandymount.

Place was okay for 2 people but there was 4 of us with no place to sit for 2 people. Beds said queen very small queens. Location was not easy access to downtown- previous comments were Uber was inexpensive- not true each Uber ranged from 25 to 35 one way. Could have used the train but 15 walk in pouring rain. Password provided for wifi was not correct. Ended up calling owner said the system had just been changed he wasn’t sure of the new one. Finally figured it out on our own. Backyard was overgrown not usable on the nice day we had while there. Would be a great place for a couple that wanted to close themselves off for a few days but not for more than 2 people who wanted to see the sites. Toll bridge fee a couple of times with Uber and taxi. No garbage cans/bags anywhere? None in the bathroom or kitchen. Bathroom had 2 small towel racks for hand towels but nothing for bath towels-no bathroom cabinets for toothbrush shampoo etc…so you had to carry everything up to your room. Just okay not a Wow I was expecting

Cute cottage

The cottage is very cute and well renovated. Despite this there are a few niggles I'm afraid! It is right alongside the docks so can be pretty noisy with the cranes going at all hours - ok if you're sleeping in the back room or a heavy sleeper but worth being aware of this if you're not!There are only 2 easy chairs in the lounge area - it's a shame there's a second table instead of more comfy seating as city breaks are so tiring. We had to take turns in sitting comfortably which nobody really wants! I've given three stars for cleanliness as I'm afraid the bathroom fell short of our expectations in this respect. There was a constant sewerage smell which wasn't very pleasant. There was no bin and the soap provided was a grubby hard coal tar soap already used by previous guests to wash goodness knows where - most unhygienic :( It would have been nice and cost hardly anything if the owner had left some milk and teabags. After walking with our luggage from the tram to the house we were desperate for a cuppa but were left very disappointed - with the nearest shop is quite a walk away we just couldn't bring ourselves to turn out again! All in all our stay was pleasant enough but could have been a five star one with some thought for the guest experience.

Lovely rental, had everything you would need except the wifi was down the entire time we were there which was disappointing, forcing us to use data etc to stay in touch with family and friends back in Canada. Owner was very apologetic and easily contacted.
