「Delightful linens, food, ales, garden... and the staff are wonderful. A hidden gem that is a beautiful getaway easily accessible by car or railroad - or indeed on the Kennet by boat!」

「A lovely country house hotel. Our room was very spacious with an outside patio where we enjoyed a complimentary glass of wine. The bathroom was large with a bath and a shower. We ate in the “Tasting Room” and very much enjoyed the tasting menu. The area outside the hotel has pleasant area with tables and chairs which we enjoyed as it was a warm sunny day. The hotel is quite expensive, but we thought it worth the money. The spa was OK, small and a little tired but we enjoyed our swim in the pool....

「Excellent check in. Very friendly staff. Extremely dog friendly. Room was spacious. All the fire doors in the corridors were a bit difficult to manage, but otherwise good. Food and drink was excellent and bar staff great. Excellent location being in the middle of the high street and the canal very close by for walking. Outdoor areas of the hotel were rather scruffy / dirty. Not a particularly nice area to sit close to the car park.」

「Great room, with lots of extras - mini fridge with fresh milk and cold water, coffee maker, good selection of teas/coffees/biscuits, Dyson fan, lovely toiletries. Comfortable bed. Friendly helpful staff with great restaurant downstairs with GF options, large car park. Would definitely stay again.」
