“A first class hotel with good food and very friendly dining room staff.”

“We stayed at the Kings Head last weekend and had a lovely time. The pub itself is gorgeous, decorated beautifully, it is cosy and inviting and located in a lovely spot by the stream.Although the actual car park itself was small this was no problem as we parked literally a couple of minutes away on the lane, perfect as it allowed the opportunity to see a tiny red squirrel busy in a nearby tree. The bar was great and the rooms furnished beautifully with lots of lovely little touches to make your……

“Beautiful old hotel in the centre of Carlisle, very close to the Cathedral, which is a must see. We had a room in the annex which was comfortable but the acoustic separation was not very good.”

“Room was fine with what looked like a recently refurbished bathroom. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The food was beautifully presented and of à high quality. Would definitely stay here again”

“Arrived at the hotel only to find a run down building with broken windows and hotel name. Had booked a double room. During check in was able formed my room was “upgraded” to a deluxe complimentary. Room was on the second floor and there was no elevators. Walked up the stairs the dirtiest stairs ever seemed like it never got cleaned, went to the room. The room itself was rather small for a “deluxe” double had no windows only a tiny little window on the top right side but the ceiling of a wall.……

“Great location in town centre. Stay spoiled by sewer odour in bathroom that couldn’t be disguised by the scented bottle they put in there. Property also didn’t reply to an email I sent about an item I left behind in the room.”

“The property was in a lovely location with great views and was very convenient for visiting Keswick which was a very pleasant town.”

“The hotel staff were very friendly. The room was comfortable in a beautiful setting. There is easy access to footpaths in the area and several options for getting around. The restaurant food was outstanding except for one meal, they ran out of game hem and replaced it with chicken, and the chicken was dry. Otherwise it would be nice to have some pillow options, with both foam and feather available. Overall it was excellent and I highly recommend it. Hoping we can go there again in the future.”
