「Excellent stay! We couldn’t be happier with our time at this cottage. We enjoyed using their four complimentary kayaks (they had life jackets and paddles for us), had a fire at night (host supplied free chopped firewood), grilled out burgers on the grill, and rented a pontoon boat and wave runner (Lake Winnebago Boat & WaveRunner Rentals is next door. The host (Brad) who owns this cottage also owns the boat rental place next door). We even did some fishing (there is a bait shop also next door)...

「Very nice and spacious place, fantastic location, and The owner was very responsive. There are lots of steps to get to the unit, and no elevator. I’m sure this is disclosed on the listing, but I didn’t read the fine print. I don’t mind extra steps, but it made unloading coolers, suitcases, etc a little challenging and one family member is recovering from a past injury and struggles with steps, but she handled it beautifully. This was on us for not looking closely, not the owner, and we would...

「The “Cozy one bedroom townhome” at Fond du Lac was not as it appeared on the listing. It was tiny. The bathroom was dirty, with a variety of black hair on the floor, indicating it had not been cleaned. It was disgusting. The bed was placed so that the air conditioner had to blast all night on one person’s head. We had to strip our own bed and there were stains on the mattress pad, further contributing to the impression of uncleanliness. When I complained to the owner, he did not even...

「The pictures are extremely misleading. The place is very dingy. There’s a bedroom downstairs that’s mostly fine, but the sleeping arrangements for the other eight upstairs are a very tight attic without separate rooms. There’s one bathroom and the water pressure is subpar. The outside of the building is pretty rundown. Everything worked. And communication was good. Great parking behind the unit. The AC worked fine.」
