“Laurie was super nice and helpful with everything hotel and mackinaw city/island related. the campsite and beach were a huge plus. for a small motel it was very nice, clean, modern, and updated. would definitely stay there again.”

“The staff was very friendly and helpful during our stay. The room was clean, but bathroom was dated and water pressure not great. Also some gouging along one wall was a little unsightly and in need of repair and the curtains although functional were stained in places. A very nice view of the Mackinaw Bridge and the beach area was nice for sitting and enjoying the view, but no access to actually swim. The pool, free breakfast, and general grounds were all nicely maintained.”

“If I could give this place negative star rating I would. When I booked this hotel online I rather reviews than 20 minutes later. I attempted to cancel my reservation only to be offered a 50% refund per the hotel policy. I decided to try this hotel the first room that they put me in did not have a fitted sheet on the mattress. It just had a flat sheet folded over the top half. They went to bring me a fitted sheet and we noticed there was ants everywhere all over the floor. They moved us to a room……

“The property looks very clean on the outside in pictures but the exterior walls have not been cleaned in a very long time. The lobby to check in was very clean. The room was very clean as well. Very well stocked with towels, washcloths, and hand towels. It was very aggravating to get the luggage to the room with the cart as you have to go to the other end of the building for the elevator and go through 2 hallways and doors and maneuver thru very narrow hallways. There was no lock on the……

“I didn't know what to expect coming into Sunrise Beach Motel since I had read both very positive reviews as well as some pretty scathing ones. But my experience was excellent. We were given a nicely rehabbed 2nd story room overlooking Lake Huron with beautiful views of the bridge and surrounding islands. Our room had the pinewood paneling on the walls and new LVP flooring. The beds made a spring sound when you moved around, but nothing too bad. Everything was clean. The handle on our sliding……
