About this property
Expansive View Of The Blue Ridge Mountains, The Valley And The Shenandoah River
Our home sits on 43 acres and has 77 windows for you to witness the breathtaking views of the Shenandoah Valley, enjoy the expansive view of Massanutten, the Shenandoah River and the Blue Ridge Mountains! The yard is equipped with a gunite pool and hot tub* plus horses and cows grazing in the pasture. There are four levels of living space - the main floor, 2nd floor, walk out finished basement and a beautiful open staircase that leads to the huge attic that can sleep extra! Our home has 5 Bedrooms, 3.5 bath, Large Kitchen with 48” Viking stove, Dining area, Large Den w/ Gorgeous Stone Fire Place, Parlor with a Piano & 5 porches! The first floor and basement have 10' ceilings and the 2nd floor has 9' ceilings. We moved to the beautiful Shenandoah Valley and built this home to raise our children. We designed it so that all of our family and friends could come and visit any time and stay with us. It's such a peaceful, private place to take in the beautiful scenery and spend time with your family & friends. The spacious living areas give you space to gather all together or find a quiet room to read a book and relax. The outdoors come to life here while walking down the country road behind our home along the Shenandoah River or the country road in front of our home viewing the mountains and pastures. You can relax by the pool and hot tub or sit out on one of our 5 porches/decks. Wherever you sit or look there is an abundance of beauty. We love to watch the moon come over the mountains or the sun set behind them. Every day is a different picture to see - the foliage in the fall, the clouds against the mountains, the stars like you've never seen them before but best of all the laughter and joy when family and friends are gathered! Anyone who visits or stays can't wait to come back. We have been told it's like a slice of heaven, a retreat, a place you never want to leave. It is conveniently located to everything! We are 1 mile from Massanutten Resort (water park, golfing, horseback riding, miniature golf, skiing, tubing, snowboarding, ice skating), 10 minutes from James Madison University, 10 minutes from Harrisonburg, 15 minutes from The Shenandoah National Park (great hiking trails) , 40 minutes from Charlottesville (UVA), 25 minutes from Luray caverns & 35 minutes from Stuanton (Black Friar Theater). Along with all those wonderful options there is canoeing, river tubing, winery's, antiquing, Fishing, hunting (depending on the season), biking, etc...
*The hot tub and pool are seasonal. It is opened April thru September and weather permitted we try to extend that period of time.

Amazing panoramic views of Shenandoah Mountains, house was very spacious and comfortable, pool and outdoor facilities were top notch. A rare gem that I would stay at again.
The house was plenty big for the 18 of us. Room to spread out and enjoy family time together. The kitchen had everything we needed and the bedrooms were great for each family.
We had almost 20 people at the house and there was plenty of room for sleeping, eating and enjoying the view. The pool and hot tub were amazing, the kitchen had everything we needed and they even left us a bundle of wood for the fire pit. I wish we could have stayed longer.
Our large family had a great wekeend stay, celebrating our Christmas! We have done numerous vacations all over and this was our favorite, by far. Huge house, with plenty of rooms to sleep, bathrooms, 360 degree views. We are considering our summer trip here, especially with the pool. here Book
Loved the 360 panoramic view. Pool and hot tub pristine. Great house for large families. Host and property manager are wonderful. Bonus…we had front row seats to neighbor’s 4th of July fireworks display
Great house, big enough for extended family, the views are to die for, horses out the back yard, great kitchen for cooking for a big family, perfect place to stay for our daughter’s graduation weekend from JMU. The host was great to communicate with and the house manager was available for any of our needs during our stay. Highly recommend!!
There were 11 of us who stayed in the home and we all had our own beds which was nice! The view was beautiful and the pool and hot tub were also very nice! We loved that we could all fit at the table for meals and fit in the family room to play games and watch movies. We wanted a very low key weekend and that is exactly what we got!
Beautifully situated on land with horses, cattle with the mountains in the distance. A winery was 6 minutes away…this was a spacious, lovely HOME. I felt invited in, I would come again. The owner as well as the property manager were wonderful about any communication we needed to have as well. Loved it!
The most outstanding feature of this property is the view of mountains, valleys and beautiful rural scenes. The house is large with room for more than our 8 adults and 4 tweenagers.
This was our second year back to this property. It was beautiful, especially during the peak fall foliage. The house was clean and there were tons of sleeping options on all floors of the house. The property owner had great communication throughout the visit. Great common areas for friends to catch up. We hope to come back next year!
What better month to see the leaves changing! Great views and the horses and longhorns were an added bonus!
Plenty of room for our family to meet and celebrate!
There were 20 of us!
Wonderful location overlooking rolling fsrmland. The house had lots of bedrooms and spaces for multiple couples and lots of kids. Kitchen and gathering areas large enoigh for the entire group to cook, eat or chat iver coffee. Close to restaurants. Would like to come back in warmer weather to enjoy the pool and outdoor spaces.
We had 16 people in our group. The youngest was 12 yo. We had enough space for everyone to spread out and be comfortable and enough space for us to all gather for meals and games. We enjoyed the mountain views and watching the horses. The house could use a decor refresh but overall it was a great stay!
We were a group of 4 families with kids ages ranging from 3-10. We had a very comfortable and enjoyable stay. Sometimes the water pressure in the bathrooms gets low due to multiple people showering together at the same time in different bathrooms. Fully stocked kitchen, outdoor barbecue range, pool and hot tub are all well taken off and we enjoyed our stay here.
We had over 20 people stay comfortably at this amazing country home. Panoramic views across the valley, although we were here for the skiing (only 8 minutes away) we wished for summer to enjoy the pool and volleyball court! The house itself is incredible, beautiful construction with hardwood floors and large bedrooms… and a kitchen fit for a master chef with a Vulcan range and ovens! Great for large families and kids. Truly a large family home with space to spread out and a basement for games and play.
The house and grounds are expansive and comfortable. The pool and hot tub were major contributors to the quality of our stay in late July. Bedroom on the top floor could have been cooler, but was OK with fans. Kitchen was well supplied and spacious. Panoramic views from every room. Owner made great suggestions for dining and recreation, as well as a great farmer's market in Harrisonburg.
We stayed at this beautiful home with a couple of other families. We all went to JMU years (ok decades) ago and met up to spend NYE together. The panoramic views from most windows of this home are breathtaking. There is plenty of space for multiple families. We took advantage of the proximity to Massanutten Resort and went skiing/snowboarding. We also went to watch a JMU basketball game. The kids enjoyed seeing the horses and cows on the property. The property owners and manager were very prompt with communication. We had a great stay!
We - meaning all 23 of us for dinner 17 for 4 nights - had a perfect Thanksgiving in the very large and cozy, family friendly home. The house is beautiful and comfortable with gorgeous views outside all windows of the Shenandoah Valley. There are horses and long horned cattle! The kitchen handled the crowd well, although we did need to bring some extra big pans. A large family room with a stone fireplace that spanned an entire wall was perfect for the entire group to relax and enjoy. We had gorgeous walks right outside the door. The host made herself available to us when, for example, our ambitious cooking set off the fire alarms, and she was as warm and welcoming as her home. Altogether, a perfect Thanksgiving in a truly lovely home.
Even better than the pictures! A perfect mountain getaway.
We used this property for a 10-year college reunion trip with friends and their families/children. When we arrived, the property was even more breathtaking than the pictures! Absolutely incredible and the house had everything our large crew could have dreamed of to help make our stay enjoyable, relaxing, and comfortable. We loved the fire pit, outdoor decks, space for kids to run around and play, and many group spaces for people to hang out and enjoy each other's company. The bedrooms were SO spacious for each little family to feel comfortable and well-rested. Additionally, the property owner and property manager were absolutely amazing in answering all of our questions ahead of time and during our stay. Many families commented that they want to come back again! The horses on property were a highlight for of all of the children and they loved getting to ride their bikes and scooters around the long, paved driveway.
The house and scenery were absolutely beautiful! Disappointed to find the hot tub locked off when we got there, it could have been made clearer in the description that there's an off season. Host and property manager texted us multiple times throughout the stay, so not the most hands-off experience. Had to reach out to the host while we were en route because I hadn't received any check-in instructions, and when I heard back, she mentioned we should be bringing our own paper products. Had to call the property manager to come let us in when we arrived because the door malfunctioned.
Despite this, the views and the house certainly made up for the quirks.
The house, the views, the pool, the kitchen-First class ! Well kept property except for one thing-the volley ball court. Website shows a great looking sand filled court but it's all overgrown with grass and weeds. We have a couple of volley ballers in our family who were a bit disappointed. However that was a minor annoyance when you consider everything else the house has to offer. One of the best equipped kitchens we've ever seen in our 19 years of family vacations. Horses and steers roam off property and those mountain views are really fabulous. We especially liked all of the family photos on the walls in various rooms. Obviously there are many great family memories associated with this property.
So, as long as you're not into volleyball, you'll just love this place. A definite thumbs up !
Will start with the many pro's to this property: My boyfriend booked this lovely home to celebrate my birthday with a group of friends, there were 10 of us in total. The panoramic views of the mountains and surrounding farm(s) were amazing! The home itself is well built and the photos online do not do it justice as to how spacious the home actually is. The kitchen was well-stocked with plenty of dishes, drinkware, eating/cooking utensils, pots, pans, toaster, coffee machine, 2 ovens, large refrigerator with a second refrigerator in the basement. The rooms were all well-kept and clean and we as middle-agers definitely appreciated the firm mattresses! The cons: There were a couple of cosmetic things here and there (missing pieces to faucets, middle grill in the stove not working due to a missing knob, overgrown volleyball net area, older ping pong table with only 3/4 paddles, non-heated pool). The only major disappointment was learning that the hot tub was not working and a text request for a partial reimbursement for the booking to the owner and property manager was completely ignored. Overall, I would definitely recommend this VRBO to others, owner and property manager are very nice and home and property are GORGEOUS! Just be aware that you will pay full price regardless of whether or not the pool and hot tub are actually useable during your stay.
Our family of 18 came from 4 diff states to vacation here. We chose this location because of the privacy. The things we enjoyed were the pool, the sunrise over the mountain every morning, enough seating in the kitchen for all of us at mealtime and enough space around the land itself that if you wanted to spend some time alone there was space to do so.
A couple of things I would mention to other guests is that there are no blinds in the bedrooms which led to the bright light of the close town or the moon and def the sunrise- you could never really sleep in. The beds in all the room are very firm and 90% of our family agreed too uncomfortable to get a good night sleep on.
Since the listing says a 48in Viking stove with griddle, it stunk that it was broken and not useable.(2 of our guests were chefs). The listing says basketball hoop (we had 7 teenagers) and it stunk that it could not be adjusted to go up and down and the backboard was broken. The listing mentions and shows a sand volleyball court but it is all grass and is also the area they saddle the horses, so even if we wanted to play on grass there was so much horse poop in that area. The listing mentions 5 porches- which are amazing!..esp the porch on the upstairs bedroom where you can see the sunrise. Just wish on that porch and the other bedroom porch there was even 2 chairs so it could be used other than just standing.
Overall, this is a great place and Debbie, the project manager was always responsive to our needs
