Clouds Villa

"Extremely local chinese hotel. English speaking staff were far and few. Staff all hesitant and not confident to deal with foreigners so the communication was a struggle. But everyone was nice and polite. The common areas are not well maintained (i.e. lobby) so if you are looking for an upscale experience this is not your place. Most importantly the operations and management of the place is very poor. Everyone was all over the place. It was a mess. The team couldn’t manage the guests and it affected our enjoyment and experience."

"It was a good stay for us, the room was clean, staff very friendly, but if you are a non smoker, there's second hand smoke in the breakfast area or common areas, which is typical of most properties as the staff smoke. The breakfast is suited for Chinese travelers, so if you are accustomed to a western style breakfast, you won't find it here."

"Nice hotel in good location, close to 3 Pagodas, Ancient Town & Cable Car Stations for trips up the mountain. Plenty of local food options within minutes"

"The hotel was very clean and the gentleman working behind the front desk was very friendly and tried his very best to help with questions we had about traveling around Dali. The hotel is right in the middle of Dali Ancient City, so if that's what you want the location is excellent. It's a bit of a ride to the train station, but Didi's are very affordable. The hotel is very hard to find and the translation for the name of the hotel from English to Mandarin doesn't give the right name of the hotel. It took us awhile to find the hotel and even our DiDi driver from the airport didn't know the name of the hotel, somehow we found it. It's a small boutique hotel with clean rooms, comfortable bed, and breakfast made to order. Overall it was a good stay for the price."

"The family suite was an absolute dream for us. The view was breathtaking, and having two separate rooms provided both comfort and privacy, it is very ideal for parents and kids to sleep separately like our family. We also loved their attention to cleanliness. The towels and slippers were stored in sanitizing cabinets that use UV light to disinfect them. They provided delicious welcome fruits and snacks and continued providing it everyday The food was simply amazing, everything was prepared with the freshest ingredients and was incredibly delicious. On top of that, the prices were very reasonable for dinner, our breakfast was included. The biggest highlight was the staff. They truly treat us like family, and they make every guest feel right at home. We were especially touched when they offered to wash all of our clothes, even though we didn’t return to the hotel until 8 to 9 pm. They washed everything for us and dried then folded the clothes, which was thoughtful and unexpected. Their warmth in the hospitality made our stay unforgettable. This is 120% recommended, a stay we will remember for many years to come"
