Excellent for a business trip. My only niggle was trying to claim the 5€\night sustainability reward which was a bit confusing for the bar staff……all sorted in the end as the staff were excellent. :-)

Just perfect
Everything was just perfect. When I reached the hotel I was dead tiered, when I got into the room it was so cozy, so comfortable, and calm, it was just perfect, I slept like a baby. Kind and professional staff, hotel is clean, nothing to complain about. There are busses and metro station near by. I totally recommend this hotel.

Best for Business in Essen
NH is my favourite hotel in Essen and I've stayed at a few. The reception staff are great, as is the bar man, and breakfast is pretty good. Location wise its pretty damn good.

Convenient and more
This is a nice hotel on a main arterial so easy for bus and taxi service. We found a nice little restaurant around the corner - Panoptikum Gaststätten GmbH - which made our stay that much better since the hotel restaurant is not open every night. Breakfast is expensive at the hotel if you don't book it with your room. Shopping is very close and it's easy to walk up to the platz in central Essen, quite convenient.

A good choice for Essen spiel
Stay here for Essen Spiel 2018. Hotel is located right next to underground tram station, with several lines passing through, so no trouble getting a tram from main station (Essen Hbf every 5-10min) although it is possible to walk from there also. Check-in was quick and easy. Found that the room i was given did not have a mini fridge (there was an empty space where it should be). After speaking with reception, the staff were able to accommodate me in another room (without a bathtub though), so that was good (i preferred the fridge to a bath). About the room, it is a good size and clean, the bed is comfortable and there is room to sit and use a laptop. The windows do a good job of blocking the noise of the traffic (hotel next to a main road). WiFi is free and fast, but had trouble with stability (internet sometimes just stops for 4-5mins) and the Netflix streaming service (doesn't load content home page) - reception says it is not a problem on their side, but if i share internet from my phone, Netflix works perfect. I believe they are blocking certain communication that Netflix relies on. All other sites (youtube, facebook etc) work fine on the hotel WiFi, so there is something going on between Netflix and the WiFi

The room was quiet and comfortable, everything I needed! Didn't use any of the hotel's other facilities as I arrived fairly late and slept in even later!

Average hotel, slightly dated.
Stayed 3 nights on business. The hotel is clean and comfortable. Breakfast was 18 euros so didn't bother. Car parking is the same price for overnight. Friendly staff.

Nice stay, friendly staff, poor internet
Hotel staff was very polite, room very clean an breakfast was good. At the period when I stayed there were issues with internet - it was very slow (not even possible to talk through skype) and paid wifi was even slower than free internet. Local area was not very clean and location of hotel is 10 min walk from old town center. Hotel is very good option for persons who are travelling by car, because the building next to hotel is multi story parking lot.

Hotel in Essen, it is really a Welcome Hotel
Super clean. In the washroom you don't find a dirty spot. Every day the room is made and the bathroom is cleaned as the first day. Location is close to everything.

_Conscientious staff. - Central location and very close to Zeche Zollverein transportation. - Comfortable lobby level bar with large outdoor terrace. - Quiet, clean room with large bed. - Breakfast too expensive to take advantage of but cafes near the Rathaus shopping center and pedestrian zone are within walking distance. - Room cleaned every day.
