We had an amazing time. The food was wonderful. Only suggestions for improvement are need more comfortable mattresses in Moose lodge and the heat in Moose lodge was a little much. We tried to turn the thermostat down without success. So, just open all the window and turn your fan on when you first get there so by the time you want to sleep it will be cool enough. Also, bring your own drinking water as the mineral content is quite high from the tap and at the restaurant.

Great staff although no way to reach front desk by phone. Very outdated rooms (hot and stuffy) and paths outside were covered in ice. Too many lights to see the Northern Lights. However, hot springs and ice museum were cool to experience and the restaurant was delicious. Fun souvenirs and coffee/hot cocoa building.

Hot springs were nice. Kids indoor pool was not so nice. Room had one comfortable bed and one uncomfortable bed. The trim was broken off the side of the door. The paint on the windows was blistering from condensation. Plenty of deferred maintenance. And the room was too warm. The greenhouse would have been cool to see but the last tour was right at check in and you would have to stay more than one night to see it. Restaurant isn’t big enough. 30-60 minute waits to get seated. Not the most polite staff. The rest is a complete tourist trap.

Fabulous location with incredible areas to walk. Wonderful excursions right on premises ( aurora viewing, snowmobiles, dog sleds, ice museum, greenhouse, geothermal plant), fabulous food. Rooms have enough space, are clean, comfortable and nice amenities. The rooms ran a bit warm though. Nice gift shops. I strongly encourage speaking to employees and getting to know them. Their suggestions were spot on and often not well publicized things to see and do. Find the owner bernie, he’s quite a character and fun to speak to. Truly a once in a lifetime experience.
