Faro District Pet-friendly Hotel

"This is not a 4 star hotel! Despite having a nice pool (with few sun lounges) and being in a good location, the additional costs of a kettle, iron & pool towels is mean-spirited & not consistent with a 4 star hotel. The limited, inflexible, unappetizing breakfast is also poor. In a country that grows millions of oranges, why would you offer guests orange drink? "Agnes and Bruno are wonderful hosts and are genuinely concerned that your stay in Tavira will be a pleasant one. My room was clean and spacious and was cheerfully decorated. The fact that there was no TV was actually a plus, as the news is always depressing. You have all the other comforts of home, since in the common area there is a refrigerator, a microwave and a hot pot for boiling water. An added bonus is a a rooftop terrace where you can lounge in the sun while gazing at the river. ...

"The pool was closed and has been for some time as they are rebuilding it. This was not advertised when booking nor was it communicated to us afterwards. Bike hire and meals also need to be arranged the day before , again this wasn't communicated to us when booking or when speaking to the reception on the phone prior to arriving. It's a lovely village but I think it's not ok to advertise facilities that aren't available as this was a big reason why we chose it. I would definitely go again though...

"A lovely, clean and spacious apartment with fantastic sea views. The staff all around the complex, including the front desk and cleaners were extremely friendly and welcoming. Everything you need is within walking distance, the beach, bars, restaurants, shops, pharmacy etc and Olhos d’Agua is a resort still with some traditional charm. Thanks for a wonderful stay."
