Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a pleasurable experience if you're prepared. We've made a list of handy tips and tricks that will help get your Adams escape started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First and foremost, pack in your passport, travel docs, cash and vital medications. Next, you'll want some in-flight entertainment to help pass the time. A thrilling book and a phone filled with your favourite movies are always good options. If you hope to catch a few z's, a neck pillow and some earplugs will also come in handy. Finally, squeeze in a toothbrush and some facial wipes so you'll hop off the plane looking fresh and raring to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked baggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated. Sharp or pointed objects, like your precious Swiss Army knife, and dangerous goods which are flammable or explosive, such as aerosol cans, flares and poisons, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- You'll want to choose comfort over style. Prepare for changes in temperature by donning layers, and pick closed-toe, flat shoes like sneakers.
- Caused by sustained periods of inactivity, deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a blood clotting condition that can affect passengers during long-haul flights. Lower your risks by drinking water, keeping your legs and ankles moving and wearing compression tights or socks.
