No matter where you're coming from, flying can be a pleasant experience if you're well prepared. We've made a list of handy hints that will help get your Eidsdal escape started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane trip can be a comfortable experience if you take the right things. Firstly, you'll want a few basic toiletry items, such as lip balm and hand cream, a spare pair of socks and a magazine or two. Secondly, make room in your carry-on bag for your electronic devices, chargers, your important medications and maybe a proper neck pillow as well. Last, but definitely not least, be sure to bring your passport, travel docs and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Check carefully that you don't have a pocket knife hiding in the bottom of your carry-on luggage. Other restricted items include explosive or flammable goods, like aerosols and matches, and gels and liquids in containers with a capacity of more than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters).
What to wear on a flight:
- The goal here is to be as comfortable as possible. Layer yourself up in natural fibers and pack a sweater in case you get cold. Always go with roomy, flat shoes as it's possible that your feet and ankles will swell during the journey. Leave the high heels and heavy hiking boots in your luggage.
- Unfortunately, one risk of long flights is developing DVT (deep vein thrombosis), a blood clotting condition caused by lengthy periods of inactivity. To prevent this from happening, take every opportunity to walk around and give your legs a stretch. Compression socks and tights are another great idea to help lower your risk.
