Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a seamless experience if you've prepared well enough. We've put together a list of handy tips that will help get your Florida escape started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- It's simple — first, pack your passport, important documents, wallet and medications. Next, you'll need some in-flight entertainment to while away the hours. A thrilling book and a tablet crammed with your favourite movies are some great options. If you hope to catch more than just forty winks, a neck pillow and a pair of earplugs will also be useful. Finally, leave some space for a toothbrush and some facial wipes so you'll touchdown looking and feeling fresh.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of restricted items differs between air carriers, the general rule of thumb is nothing flammable, sharp or explosive. This includes tools, metal cutlery, aerosol cans and flares. Sporting equipment like golf clubs, and objects that could harm passengers, such as firearms and swords, are also banned from the cabin.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of an airplane are no place for a fashion parade. Dress in comfortable layers and pick shoes that are enclosed, flat and easy to pull on and off.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by prolonged inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Try to walk around the cabin and stretch your legs or do some simple exercises in your seat to promote better circulation.
