Depending on where you're coming from, your journey to Fürstenau could be a piece of cake or it could go on forever. We've pulled together some useful hints that will help you start your next big adventure on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane trip can be easy if you bring the right gear. Firstly, you'll want a few toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and hairbrush, a fresh set of clothes and something to read. Next, make room in your carry-on bag for your mobile phone, a charger, your important medications and maybe a proper neck pillow as well. Lastly, and most importantly, don't forget to bring your passport, travel docs and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Check carefully that you don't have a Swiss Army knife lurking in the bottom of your hand luggage. Other prohibited items include explosive or flammable goods, such as bleach and fuel, and gels and liquids in containers with a volume of more than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters).
What to wear on a flight:
- Your number one priority is to feel as comfortable as possible. Don layers of breathable clothing and pack a jacket in case it gets cold in the cabin. Pick flat, slightly roomy shoes as it's possible that your feet and ankles will swell a little during the journey. Leave the high heels and heavy hiking boots in your checked baggage.
- Unfortunately, a risk of flying long distances is developing DVT (deep vein thrombosis), a blood clotting condition caused by extended periods of inactivity. To avoid this, take every opportunity to walk around the cabin and stretch your legs. Compression tights and socks are also a great idea to help lower your risk.
