Depending on where you're coming from, your trip to Lusty Glaze could be a piece of cake or it could go on forever. We've pulled together some handy travel tips that will help you start your next great adventure on a positive note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Traveling on a plane can be a cruisy experience if you bring the right stuff. Firstly, you'll want a few basic toiletry items, such as lip balm and hand cream, a clean pair of socks and a good read. Next, find a spot in your hand luggage for your phone, tablet and chargers, any daily medications and maybe a neck pillow as well. Lastly, and most importantly, don't forget to bring your passport, travel papers and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of prohibited items differs between airlines, the general guide to follow is avoid carrying anything flammable, sharp or explosive. This includes things like knives, scissors, aerosol cans and bleaching agents. Sporting equipment like ice skates, and objects that could injure passengers, such as firearms and swords, aren't allowed in the cabin either.
What to wear on a flight:
- The goal here is to make yourself as comfortable as you can. Layer up with loose, natural fibers and remember to pack a jacket in case it gets chilly in the cabin. Pick a pair of flat, slightly roomy shoes as it's possible that your feet and ankles will swell a little during the flight. Leave the high heels and heavy boots in your checked baggage.
- A serious condition known as DVT (deep vein thrombosis) can pose a risk on long-haul flights. It's the result of blood clotting due to poor circulation and inactivity. Doing leg and foot exercises in your seat is a great way to prevent this from occurring. Wearing a high-quality pair of compression socks may also help.
