We've got the lowdown on how to make your journey as enjoyable as possible. Follow our tips and tricks and you'll be hightailing it through airport security and exploring Pihtipudas in no time flat. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First, put in your passport, travel documents, bank cards and medications. Next, you'll need some in-flight entertainment to while away the time. A thrilling book and a laptop crammed with your favourite movies are some great options. If you plan to take a quick snooze, a neck pillow and a pair of noise-cancelling headphones will also come in handy. Finally, make room for a toothbrush and some facial wipes so you'll arrive looking and feeling fresh.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) won't be allowed on. Sharp objects, like your precious Swiss Army knife, and dangerous goods which are flammable or explosive, such as spray paint, flares and poisons, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your priority is to feel as comfortable as possible. Opt for easy-to-remove footwear, dress in loose, natural fibers and don't forget to bring a sweater in case it gets cold in the cabin.
- You've probably heard about deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by long periods of sitting. To lower your risk on board, stay hydrated, consider wearing compression tights or socks and keep your legs and feet moving.
