Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be an enjoyable experience if you've prepared well enough. We've made a list of handy tips that will get your Pinsot holiday started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First things first, pack your passport, official ID, credit cards and vital medications. Next, you'll need some extra in-flight entertainment to while away the hours. A thrilling book and a tablet crammed with your favourite movies are good options. If you hope to take a short nap, a neck pillow and a pair of noise-cancelling headphones will also come in handy. Finally, leave space for a toothbrush and some cleansing wipes so you'll arrive at your destination looking and feeling fresh.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Pack all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) won't be allowed on. Sharp objects, like your trusty Swiss Army knife, and dangerous goods which are explosive or flammable, such as flares, chemicals agents and strong acids, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your aim here is to feel as comfortable as you can. Opt for a pair of flat, closed-toe shoes, dress in loose, breathable clothing and don't forget to bring a pullover in case it gets cold in the cabin.
- Caused by prolonged periods of inactivity, deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a blood clotting condition that can affect passengers during long flights. Lower your risks by staying hydrated, keeping your legs and feet moving and wearing compression socks to help your circulation.
