Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a pleasurable experience if you're well organised. We've made a list of essential travel tips that will help get your Piobbico escape started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Air travel can be a great experience if you pack the right stuff. First of all you'll need basic toiletries, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a spare change of clothes and a magazine or two. Secondly, make room in your hand luggage for your phone and charger, your medications and perhaps a cosy neck pillow as well. Lastly, remember to take your passport, travel documents and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated by authorities. Sharp objects, like your pocket knife, and dangerous goods which are flammable or explosive, such as flares, bleaching agents and fireworks, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- You'll want to go for comfort over style. Prepare for temperature changes in the cabin by wearing layers, and opt for flat, closed-toe footwear like sneakers.
- You've probably heard about deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by prolonged periods of inactivity. To lower your risk on board, drink lots of water, consider wearing compression socks and keep your legs and feet moving.
