Wherever you're coming from, flying can be an enjoyable experience if you've prepared well enough. We've compiled a list of handy tips and tricks that will get your Ronald escape started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Air travel can be a pleasure if you bring the right stuff. First of all you'll need basic toiletries, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a clean pair of socks and a good book. Secondly, leave space in your hand luggage for your mobile phone, a charger, medications and perhaps a quality neck pillow as well. Lastly, and most importantly, be sure to bring your passport, travel papers and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Pack all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked luggage. Any liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated by authorities. Sharp or pointed objects, like your treasured pocket knife, and dangerous products which are flammable or explosive, such as flares, chemicals agents and poisons, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your goal here is to feel as comfortable as you can. Choose a pair of flat, closed-toe shoes, dress in loose, breathable clothing and don't forget to take a pullover in case you get chilly in the cabin.
- It's likely you've heard about deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by long periods of sitting. To lessen your risk on board, stay hydrated, consider wearing compression socks and do gentle foot and leg exercises in your seat.
