Depending on where you're coming from, your journey to Stredná Revúca could be a breeze or it could go on forever. We've put together some tips that will help you start your next big adventure on a positive note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Air travel can be a great experience if you take the right gear. Firstly, you'll want a few toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and some deodorant, a fresh set of clothes and a good book. Secondly, make room in your carry-on bag for your electronic gadgets, chargers, your medications and maybe a comfy neck pillow as well. Lastly, and most importantly, be sure to bring your passport, travel papers and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated. Pointed or sharp objects, like your beloved pocket knife, and dangerous products which are explosive or flammable, such as flares, bleaching agents and fuels, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- The answer to a comfortable flight often lies in your choice of clothing. Prepare for temperature changes by bringing layers. That way you'll stay nice and warm if the cabin gets chilly. Shoes like sandals and heels are best left in your suitcase. Instead, go for flat, closed-toed footwear like sneakers. Your feet will appreciate it.
- Unfortunately, a risk of long-distance travel is developing DVT (deep vein thrombosis), a blood clot condition caused by prolonged inactivity. To avoid this, make the most of every opportunity to walk around and give your legs a stretch. Compression tights and socks are another simple way to help minimize this risk.
