We've got the lowdown on how to make your flight an enjoyable experience. Follow our insider tips and you'll be cruising through airport security and having a ball in Sun Valley in next to no time. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Firstly, and most importantly, pack in your passport, travel docs, cash and medications. Next, you'll want some in-flight entertainment to while away the time. A juicy book and a laptop filled with your favourite shows are always good options. If you intend to take a quick snooze, a comfy neck pillow and some earplugs will also be useful. Finally, make room for a few toiletry items so you'll hop off the plane looking fresh and ready to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Check carefully that you don't have a sharp object hiding in the bottom of your hand luggage. Other prohibited items include explosive or flammable products, such as aerosol cans and fuel, and liquids and gels in containers larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres).
What to wear on a flight:
- You'll want to choose comfort over style. Prepare for temperature changes in the cabin by donning layers, and opt for flat, closed-toe footwear like sneakers.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by lengthy periods of inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Make a point of walking around the cabin or do some simple exercises in your seat to promote better circulation.
