We've pulled together all the info you need to make your flight as pain-free as possible. Follow our tips and you'll be speeding through the airport and having a blast in Vihtavuori before you know it. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Flying can be a comfortable experience if you've got all the right stuff. First things first, you'll need basic toiletry items, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a fresh change of clothes and something to read. Secondly, make room in your hand luggage for your electronic gadgets, chargers, any medications and perhaps a comfy neck pillow too. Lastly, remember to bring your passport, travel docs and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Pack all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked baggage. Any liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated by authorities. Pointed or sharp objects, like your beloved Swiss Army knife, and dangerous goods which are explosive or flammable, such as flares, bleaching agents and gasoline, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your aim here is to feel as comfortable as you can. Opt for slip-on footwear, dress in loose, natural-fibre clothing and don't forget to bring a jacket in case it gets cold in the cabin.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by lengthy periods of inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Try to wander around the cabin or do some gentle exercises in your seat to promote better circulation.
