"Having been born and raised in this area, I wasn't familiar with this location when trying to find a place close to family when coming back to visit. The address said Fort Plain, however it's in town of Danube, outside of St. Johnsville, not even remotely close to FP. Mind the location, as that wasn't a big deal to travel back and forth. "Pros: Valerie is a kind host, and the property is in one of the most beautiful areas I have ever stayed. Cons: There is one shared bathroom on the first floor. There is no bathroom in the room, or the one next door which I saw when I found out that the dividing door was not locked. The pillows did not have liners in the pillow cases and were stained so we did not use them. The sheets had other people's hair on them, so we didn't use the cover sheets or blankets. "The staff were friendly and welcoming. If you’re looking for a budget-friendly hotel and aren’t concerned about much else, this may be a suitable option. We stayed for seven nights, which ended up feeling much longer than we would have liked. On our second day, housekeeping refreshed our towels but accidentally left our room door open all day. After that experience, we chose not to use housekeeping services again, which became inconvenient when it came to managing our trash. The rooms were not the cleanest, although the bed itself seemed decent. However, the bedding and much of the room’s furnishings appeared worn and outdated. On a positive note, the complimentary breakfast was one of the better continental breakfasts we’ve had. I believe this hotel has a lot of potential if it were better maintained and updated. The pool was only open during the first two days of our stay, and it’s very small. Families with young children might get more use out of booking a room with a large tub, as it could be just as enjoyable for kids"

"Visiting Oneonta to attend baseball games at Cooperstown All Star Village. It is a short 10 minute drive away. A clean and comfortable hotel near a small shopping mall. Staff was overly welcoming and attentive to our questions and to provide assistance. This general manager has surely established a professional atmosphere as exhibited by the employees we met and our observation of the overall appearance of the hotel. A quiet atmosphere for families and a pool for the young at heart. Parking spaces in abundance. There are other hotels in the near by area but you cannot go wrong with this Quality Inn."
