Beach is great...condo not so much

Let me start by saying we had a chance to meet the owners and they were very nice. With that said, it's way past time they do some serious remodeling/updating to this condo. We looked at several others for next year. Modern and updated. Of course they will be able to rent it the way it is, but we won't be staying there again. We rented this condo in 2021 and thought it ok. It served our purposes for a working vacation, plus we are checking out different Florida locations looking forward to retirement. The internet worked well, which was very important for our needs. When we arrived this second time, there was no TV in the bedroom (which was a big bummer!) But after emailing the rental company with our dissatisfaction, apparently they contacted they owners who are local and they brought over a large smart TV. That was nice. My main complaints are as follows: 1. Cleaning was terrible - I mopped the floor upon check in. 2. Bed Linens thin and worn. Same for towels. Only extra blanket I could find was a very thin crocheted holey blanket. 3. Pillows were AWEFUL! No two were the same. We purchased two quality pillows last year, they were not there. I washed the two best prior to use. Pretty gross. Doesn't housekeeping monitor any of this for the owners? 4. Appliances work, but could be updated. Refrigerator makes noise all day and night, and if you have the ice maker on, it leaks water down into the refrigerator. 5. Major draft from under front door. 6. Someone tried to upgrade the shower, bad design. Unless you keep the shower head turned all the way to the wall, the bathroom floor gets flooded. The entire condo needs to be painted, but especially the bathroom. Ceiling paint is peeling. Baseboards are pretty bad. Of course the beach is the best. But we will be spending our money on a more comfortable place. Thank you!

Can't beat the location.

Very comfortable condo with all the amenities for a great beach vacation. Wonderful pool area and well maintained grounds. Walkable to Times Square with many dining options available. Highly recommend.

Great view, but......

This is a very nice condo, good location and a great view on the beach. The negative part was there was no table and the wooden benches were sooo hard and uncomfortable. There is a high table & chairs on the patio. However, with bad knees, it is difficult to get up on the chairs. On a rainy day, there is no place to play cards or games. We had issues with both WiFi and the LR television not working all week and management was unable to fix the problem with the TV. They did get us WiFi a couple of days before we left. That was disappointing, but they did make an adjustment to our account. These issues will be fixed and I would consider going back there again.

Beautiful and quiet

This condo is at the very north end of the island and was perfect for our family! We loved the view of both the gulf and the bay, the condo is beautiful inside and the beach is large and gorgeous! It is about a Mike from Times Square, but there are many options to get there - walk, ride the free tram or rent bikes for the week (FYI quicky cycles delivered & picked them up from our condo!)

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We enjoyed our stay at Gateway Villas. While the condo shows signs of wear and is a little "tired", it was perfectly adequate and provided a terrific relaxing week. The time went fast! The condo is adequately supplied with kitchen equipment, the bed is comfortable and the place is clean. The view is spectacular although the heavy duty screen is an irritant and sure messes up your sunset and dolphin photos. Suggest an 'invisible' screen or one that you can roll down in the evenings. We had to stop at the TriPower office to get a gate card and all the personnel had gone home because of a storm. That was a hassle, someone should have known that we were coming and called or made other arrangements. We finally made contact and waited in the parking lot for a representative to arrive. Otherwise, the TriPower people are friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay and would stay again and recommend it to our friends.

The condo has been updated with new kitchen and bath and flooring throughout. The furniture and bed appear to be fairly new and are very comfortable. The north beach is THE place to stay in Ft Myers. Highly recommend!

location was the best

Loved the location and the public parts of the property were well kept and very clean. Apartment furniture was fair and kitchen was well appointed. There was alot of ants in the kitchen and in the kitchen cabinets and called and advised rental managers and they stated they would sent some on over and they never did. Kept food in microwave and had to wash dishes before we used them. Also carpet in bedroom was very stained and the tv in bedroom did not work. If I knew these problems were taken care of I would gladly stay again.
