Mediocre at best

The room was pretty clean upon arrival and the ac worked fantastically, that’s about all the positives I can say. There’s a 10 digit code for the door, room needs a fair amount of work (missing a pantry door and the other was fairly damaged, fridge barley kept food cool, balcony light did not work, the outlet on the left side of the bed was loose and unsecured, the bed was very noisy) , and the wifi was down our entire stay. It wasn’t the worst place I’ve ever stayed, but I definitely wouldn’t book here again.

Great for a long weekend visit!

We really enjoyed our stay at pirates bay. The room was just what we needed. It was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the pool too. Parking is easy. We loved how this place was convenient to restaurants and just a 10 minute drive to the beach. Would definitely consider booking here again!

Great for the price

The room was 90 degrees when we checked in. Took all night to cool off. The room was very dusty. Crumbs in bed. Other than that everything was great and as suspected.

Nice place!

I was not overly happy with our room. It did have some issues. ..needs updating. ...pictures are somewhat deceiving but overall it was a pleasant experience. ..nice view. ..nice area, and cheaper than staying on the beach. Not sure that we would stay here again but you never know!

The closet door was completely broken off as well as the shelf in the closet. The drawers in the bathroom vanity had the bottoms missing out of a few.

Awful

Let me start things off by saying that the facility is decent. It is a little dated but that was expected. What wasn’t expected though was for the smell of the room to smell that of a dead body and mothballs. This was addressed immediately upon arrival. We paid way too much to stay in a condo that we were unable to bear the smell of. Upon the 6th call, I finally wasn’t sent to voicemail & got in touch with an actual human. While on the phone, the lady said she would notify housekeeping immediately. The representative was informed that this was not a cleanliness issue. It was about the smell and that no amount of cleaning supplies could fix the smell. She still insisted on getting in touch with housekeeping to do something about the problem. So I was told that I would be getting a call from the Vacasa in Florida to speak about my issue and lo and behold no one ever called they just showed up with a vaporizer and said that would fix the issue. (May I add here; that we NEVER heard back or were checked on again in regards to this problem that was addressed immediately upon arrival). We were informed that the room smelled the way it did because the air conditioner had been turned up. They said if we ran the air conditioner for a while and still was smelling that smell to call them back. We were in the air conditioner for a good 2 to 3 hours and still smelled the smell therefore called back. Even until the minute we left, the stinch still lingered. Our clothes picked up the scent & in turn, we are now having to discard our entire luggage bins and belongings being the smell has been brought home!!😡. As if that weren’t enough, the toilet is so much trouble to flush!! Much of what was put into the toilet would just stay floating around in the bowl, no matter how many different ways we attempted to flush. We tried to avoid being at the condo at all means. Each time we called back, we hear nothing. I am very very very upset with our stay and believe I should be run refunded at least partially being this was such an inconvenience that no one fixed. - although the lady offered to find us another more fitting accommodation if the smell stayed, but as I mentioned above, we were unable to ever get in touch with them again. I believe it would be in your best interest to take this condo off the market until something is done about the smell. Until then we will not recommend this condo to anybody.

Worcation

The location and convenience to go any direction for food, gas, grocery, liquor. The beach was a 7 min drive. Destin about 15 mins. Pensacola 45 mins. I am a contractor and working at Eglin AFB. In the morning it was a 20-25 min drive. The place was clean great view of the sound. A little dark on property at night. I’m a male so it wasn’t too bad, but a female may have a different opinion.

Nice!

Enjoyed my stay! Very peaceful location, overlooking the bay. Not a far drive to the beach. Everything was clean and overall satisfying. I would have given 5 stars, however there was a terrible odor in the room, and the bedding was uncomfortable. So I recommend bringing your own pillows and extra blankets. Other than that, I can’t complain. We will be back again.

Pretty good!

It’s was great overall price for our spontaneous trip! Room had everything we needed! Might I add the pool there looks like Mickey Mouse, so that was a HUGE +. The only things that I did like is that at building B there is this awful sewer smell. I was for sure relieved when I realized we was in A. The scene from the balcony is great if your not really in to having a full car ocean view. But again this was very affordable and perfect for our last min. Trip!

Awesome Getaway

Great View - Great Stay

We had a wonderful time. Loved the accommodations. This place was a perfect QUIET getaway. Would go back and visit again. The only 'down' was that there are two buildings with the same address and most 'apps' send people to the wrong building.

comment on room A409 Pirates Bay

the basic room was clean, attractive,well decorated and nice balcony ---- except for the bed , the lighting, and the toilet. The box spring mattress has a problem - makes a very loud squeak, the room at night is very dark - needs a couple of floor lamps, and the toilet does not flush correctly. Shelving was missing under the hall sink, the bathroom drawer was broken, no hair dryer and only 2 small hangers - need 8-10 plastic hangers. The kitchen part is very lacking. Not a full set of silverware, can not wash dishes in the outside sink, hot plate barely worked and the coffee pot and toaster could not be plugged in if they were setting on the counter top - need to cut a access hole in the the top shelf for an extension cord. Cooking area needs a light .

Cute studio!

I would have given this 5 stars except for a few things.... don't plan on doing any cooking here. The "kitchenette" is smaller than expected. There's a hotplate, but not a large enough area to use it. Even the coffee pot had to be taken off of a shelf, filled, then put back up on the shelf to plug it in. They were in the process of redoing the wifi, and ours only had 2 bars and would continuously disconnect when trying to use it. The bed needs to be replaced. It's super soft, but a firm bed is just my personal preference.

We LOVED this room. This is our second time staying at pirates bay and both times have been absolutely wonderful. The rooms are perfectly cozy, the view from the balcony is great, the pool is relaxing, and it’s over all a very quiet place. We have made staying in Fort Walton a yearly trip and we plan to continue booking rooms at pirates bay each time. So simple yet so sweet. We’ll be back again! (:
