"The hotel room itself was very nice. 8th Floor- Non-smoking. The bathroom was spacious and it was very clean along with the bed/living area. However, the hallways and elevators smelled like cigarettes & liquor. Now, the casino was basically an overheated SMOKE cloud. Completely our fault for not educating ourself on Indiana laws which allows smoking in the casinos but it was awful. The amount of times I almost threw up from the disgusting smell of every cigarette/ blunt known to man. The hotel also thought it was a good idea to allow people to smoke inside the entrance doors - it was hell. The staff tried but ashes were literally everywhere. On the bill breaking machines, ATM’s , the casino machines. The guest used any object in that place as a trash can. Every night I had a headache. The overpriced steak house was an absolute let down. The pasta was over cooked and 4 pieces of shrimp cost $25-30. My husband and I decided to stick with the Sportsbook restaurant because the food was decent. My husband had been excited to try the hotel/casino combination and simply made the mistake of trying Ameristar first. The "

"Everytime i come to to indiana i stay here. This time it was great untill a water pipe busted and we was out of water all day. It was the city problem. I just hated i had to spend over 50 bucks on jugs of water. Which i think the hotel should have done. But other then that, hotel is a great plaxw to stay."

"Omg so noisy the floor above me must have had a party. I was trying to sleep. Seems like a party hotel. "

"I came to Comfort Suites in Merrillville, IN to celebrate my birthday to check into my room and found it filthy. The floors had not been vacuumed, trash behind the bed, sheets looked like it had old blood stains on them, bathroom was dirty so I went to the front desk and reported the issues. The front desk clerk gave us another room and that room was nasty as well so went back downtowns and clerk gave me another room.This last room was ok but it wasn’t up to satisfactory. My cousin had a room as well and her room didn’t even have heat and needed to change room as well. The whole weekend stay at this hotel was a mess and I’m very upset and will be contacting corporate office along with sending pictures. "

"We were pleasantly surprised by our room. The floors were clean. The bed was clean. Everything smelled good even in the hallway. There were no noisy neighbors and the balcony overlooking the water was peaceful and beautiful. We loved getting visits from the geese and the beautiful swan. I would absolutely stay there again."
