"Front desk staff included a young lady who was abjectly rude and unsolicitedly informed me that they wouldn't be able to help me with connecting to their free wifi. This occurred while I was discussing options and workarounds to make the wifi work with the desk manager. Found this weird and unprovoked."

"The elevators weren’t running and I explained to the front desk that I really needed to catch the 4am airport shuttle. I was assured that the elevators would be running in a matter of minutes. However, no effort was made to hold the airport shuttle for those few minutes."

"This is a newly renovated Marriott, with rooms on the top floors advertised as having been the first to get modernized/spiffed up. The other floors are presumably soon to follow. Upon check-in, they give you the option of "upgrading" to one of the upper floor rooms for a $20/night fee. Not breaking the bank, but also enough that you'd hope the experience was at least justify the outlay. My experience was sadly left wanting. While the room did sport some modern aesthetics (graphic wall design), platform bed (with marshmallow soft mattress, in case you were expecting firmer), laminate flooring at the entryway, a couple West Elmy furnishings, one couldn't escape feeling this was the same basic room as before with a little low-fi gussying up. The big disappointment, however, was a shower that went from low-flow and lukewarm to completely crapping out and not running at all by day 3, my check-out day. The front desk attendant was pleasant enough to offer some bonus points to my account as a goodwill gesture. Which was fine, but there are clearly still some wrinkles to iron out as they bring these upgrades online. Overall, it's a Marriott, so you're getting a safe, clean, standardized experience. Would give it a solid 3 stars, with room for improvement."

"Food at wedding venue was excellent. Only reason review was not excellent was that the previous occupant of our room evidently had set the alarm clock for 5:30 am on a holiday when we planned to sleep in and it was difficult to turn it off. No apology was offered for not making sure it had been turned off."

"Stayed at the Westin because I've had good experiences with the brand before, and while this hotel wasn't bad, it was just okay overall. Nothing really stood out, either positively or negatively. The biggest disappointment was that the room I stayed in didn't appear to have been remodeled. It had a very dated, old-school feel, which just isn't my preference. The bathroom could have used more attention as well—the toilet had noticeable yellow/orange ring stains, which wasn't a great first impression. The gym was decent but nothing special. On the positive side, the staff was friendly and welcoming, and the bar area looked nice and was probably one of the better parts of the property. Overall, it's an older-style hotel that may appeal to some travelers, but it wasn't quite what I was expecting from a Westin."

Quality Inn Vienna - Tysons Corner

"Just needed room for getting ready for a function so booked a small inexpensive room for a few hours. Was very surprised by the run down property in middle of upscale area and across from Jaguar dealership. Wasn't expecting much but was unable to stay in room due to strong smell of smoke even though was told entire hotel non-smoking. I have severe allergy to smoke and my husband is asthmatic. We left and will not use them again. Front desk was nice but likely not enforcing the non-smoking. Rooms had dirty carpet and stain on chair. Comforter worn."
