Then come and enjoy Hoopers Bay which is:-
1) Protected, with calm sea and safe for all ages.
2) Peaceful, with only a few private houses.
3) Perfect, crescent shaped tropical beach with coconut trees lining the shore.

Ideal for a family with 2 or 3 children or alternatively 2 couples, this DIRECTLY ON THE BEACH comfortable and modern apartment with its own separate and private entrance has been rented to many very satisfied visitors through HomeAway/VRBO and other listings for many years.
The Apartment has a Queen bedroom (with ensuite shower room, WC & handbasin) and a Twin bedroom (with space for a rollaway ) or alternatively made as a King bed plus another shower room with toilet and vanity. There is a full kitchen with stove and oven, refrigerator, microwave, toaster, coffee makers, kettle etc with a lounge and dining area plus large sliding glass doors leading to the spacious sea facing covered veranda, equipped with tables, chairs & loungers for relaxing or enjoying outdoor meals. New STARTLINK high speed internet/TV system for work, playing games or watching videos.

Just a few seconds through our tropical garden takes you onto the beautiful Hoopers Bay Beach - regarded as the BEST beach to stay on in Exuma !! The 1/2 mile ( 1 km ) long sandy beach which slopes gently into the safe and calm protected water is ideal for children of all ages. On the beach we have loungers and chairs for our guests, fresh water beach shower, kayaks and if the sun gets too hot, then the coconut trees provide ample shade.
You may rent a power boat from a supplier which can be kept at our own buoy directly from the Coral Sands beach to explore offshore Cays, go fishing or snorkeling without the need to collect and return it each day from George Town. Ask us for details.

Ideally located on the island and only 12 minutes from the airport and 6 minutes from George Town plus a number of good grocery shops are within 5 minutes easy level walk. A selection of restaurants are also nearby between the apartment and George Town.

Can't Go Wrong

You can't go wrong with staying in Hooper's Bay. The water quality, the location, the beach, all glorious. And, you certainly can't go wrong with Coral Sands and Peter and Betty as your host. They are simply the best!

On the most stunning beach I’ve ever seen!

Location was the deciding factor for this stay-right on Hooper’s Bay. Water pristine, very few people, soft white sand and clean beach. They provided lounge chairs and kayaks to use in the bay-each one of us enjoyed that adventure. Our beach was as beautiful as any beach located on Exuma. Very close to 2 grocery stores and Georgetown. Hosts were helpful on recommendations for every inch of the island! The interior provided the basics for your stay, including cable tv & Wi-Fi. Beds were very firm but I prefer a bit softer mattress. Overall, I’d recommend this stay based on the gorgeous beach, amazing patio that overlooks the water and convenience of Georgetown.

A Welcome Respite

We were both wonderfully surprised and completely happy with our stay. Peter was very informative and also accessible for questions, but not intrusive. The location on Hooper's Bay was magnificent and the suite was very clean and perfect for a quiet retreat from the busy-ness of life. For anyone looking for similar, you will be very happy.

Great location

The location of our place to the beach was great. We could walk down to the beach and hang with the turtles anytime of the day. Nice sandy beach. Peter and Betty were wonderful and Peter was always available to answer questions. Great location to George Town and plenty of restaurants.

Absolute paradise!!

We recently returned from an amazing 7 night trip to Exuma. We are so happy we found this gem of a location! This was our 2nd trip to Exuma, 1st time at this location, and it by far exceeded our expectations. It is situated in the perfect location on Hoopers Bay. The water is gorgeous, calm and full of sea turtles! Peter and Betty were great hosts, ensuring all questions and needs were taken care of. They were very informative, offered wonderful suggestions and advice. Thanks to Peter we found several new beautiful spots to enjoy…Pretty Molly Bay and Forbes Hill. Our favorite beach has to definitely be the one we stayed at…Hoopers Bay. We stayed on the top floor and had a great deck to enjoy the beautiful views. It’s a short walk through the sand and a lovely garden to the beach where you can enjoy lounge chairs, kayaks, snorkeling or swimming with the very friendly turtles. Peter and Betty have a beautiful place in the best location! They arranged everything for us and made sure we were taken care of….we will definitely be returning! Can’t wait until next time!

Beautiful island! Easy travel and wonderful Caribbean vacation.

Exuma is a hidden gem. We came on recommendation from relatives and it definitely lived up to the hype. We spent much of our time visiting the beaches all along the east side of the island. The location of this property is good for a couple reasons. It is located on Hoopers Bay which is well protected from wind. Also, it is in the middle of the island which makes it easy to explore both the northern and southern beaches in no more than 30 minutes drive. The property is in good condition and the Oxley’s made sure we were well taken care of. The beaches we visited were outstanding. It was an easy flight from Atlanta directly to the island. We highly recommend it!

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!

We visited Great Exuma 31 May through 7 June 2018. My first impression was even more than I expected. Beautiful stunning waters and beaches! I almost cried! Coral Sands was just the perfect place for my husband and I. Everything was just outstanding. Peter was very helpful and provided us a lot of information as first timers to the island. We hung out on Hooper's Bay, rented a boat for two days exploring and snorkeling, and also rented Peter's jeep which was helpful to go explore the island. I cannot say enough about this fabulous place and island. We loved it and will be going back in the future!

A little bit of heaven on earth!

Best place to stay on the island in my opinion. We loved being on Hoopers Bay, water was calm and shallow, perfect for our kids and my mother in law to wade in! We enjoyed using the kayaks that were included with the rental and got to see the sea turtles swimming in the bay nearly every day. A rental car is a must in my opinion to explore the island, get groceries, and go out to eat on occasion. Peter was an excellent host, making sure everything was to our satisfaction and he let us rent his van which was a huge step up from the other rental vehicles on the island, not to mention, cheaper. The unit we rented was right on the beach, which was so convenient. We rented the upper unit and enjoyed being able to sit on the covered deck with a spectacular view of the beach. There were 5 of us, and we had plenty of room. The unit was clean and well furnished. We will definitely be back to this island paradise and rent again from Peter and Betty!

Great view but some glitches...

We enjoyed our recent stay at Coral Sands but it was not without some issues. Upon our arrival we were greeted by a realtor as the owners were off-island. We thought we had booked the main portion of the house but were told we had booked the west wing. I believe that could have been explained to us better as my husband went by the photographs on VRBO. Luckily, there had been a plumbing issue in the unit so we were moved over to the main portion, anyway. We had to wait for the housekeeper to come and change the linens and towels as someone had checked out earlier. The house was as pictured. Apparently, there was supposed to be information for us regarding the house but we didn't get it. For the first three days we had no hot water because it hadn't been turned on. We just assumed we'd have cold showers for the week. When Peter returned to island and stopped by to see how we were we mentioned it. The realtor was supposed to turn it on and didn't. The television remote did not work well and there was no DVD player (as mentioned in amenities). There is a safe but no key. If you're travelling with a lot of cash (we were told small restaurants don't take credit cards so we had a great deal), this is an issue. I carried it with me the entire week and was uncomfortable. Without instruction we struggled with the AC in the bedroom and bathroom. We had no telephone or WiFi for much of the trip. We did not have international calling on our phones and had to call back to the US to check on an aging parent which we would have done through texts. It ended up costing us an extra $100 on our cell phone bill which I was not expecting. I advise travelers to opt for international calling before going to Exuma. We dined out each night and our anniversary meal was at the Rusty Anchor and we had top notch food and service. Best meal of the trip! There is a small grocery store up the road for essentials and driving the island is easy. Be advised our rental car had the steering wheel on the right and driving is on the left (as it is in Europe). There's a bit of a learning curve. We also went bonefishing one morning with Bonefish Stevie and had a great time! Most of our issues were minor but this was our 37th wedding anniversary and my 60th birthday trip and it was not as blissful as we had hoped. The beach was lovely (probably one of the prettiest we've ever seen). We literally had it all to ourselves most of the stay. We hope to return to Exuma in the near future.
