Clean and modern, amazing location
We thoroughly enjoyed our short weekend stay in Gettysburg in this rental. It was the perfect size and had everything we could’ve needed and more. I wanted to stay longer just so we could spend more time in the place! The location is the best- walkable to everything we wanted to do. We absolutely will stay here again!

Great little find
Perfect size apartment for the two of us. Big kitchen and huge bathroom. Excellent location all restaurants and shops in walking distance. On site parking. The pictures don’t do this “find” justice. I will definitely be staying there again. Owner was very responsive when us “two old ladies” couldn’t figure out the TV. LOL

Long Weekend college visit
Our second time staying at this property. It’s great for low maintenance weekend in Gettysburg. Right on a main road, easy to walk around to shops, restaurants, college. Good parking. We had a nice time visiting my daughter.

My sister and I went to see her daughter swim at college level….christmas festival was going on right out our door, perfect location and very clean and well stocked kitchen. We could park our car and walk everywhere…will stay here again

Perfect spot!
Beautiful property in the perfect spot for downtown walkability. Home is a Civil War building and the owners were so kind to provide us with a history of the house’s involvement in the battle. Sparkling clean with just the right touches. Will definitely be staying again!

Awesome Location!
This place was fantastic and met all of our needs for the weekend. I can’t say enough about the location! Walk out the front and you’re steps away from downtown Gettysburg. We loved it and got to explore quite a bit between soccer games. We’d definitely stay here again!

This was just such a great experience. Last year we stayed down the road in a traditional hotel and it was very nice, but staying closer to the square in a period building was absolutely amazing! We stayed during the 4th of July and it was great to be able to walk to so many stores and dining locations (grocery store and beer store right down the road as well). Parking on site was easy and the first-floor apt was perfect, with great communication from the property owner. As others have mentioned, there is some road noise, but pretty expected I think. And it was neat to hear local tour guides come by and talk outside :-). We love Gettysburg and will definitely look to book here again when we return.

Excellent getaway
We thoroughly enjoyed our couple of days in Gettysburg. We were in the middle of everything. Easy walk to the Square and to an array of restaurants, bars, ice cream joints. Parking was great and drive to visitors center was a breeze. Yes, road noise was apparent but not that terrible. Would have appreciated a couch or arm chair more than table w chairs but everyone is different.

This apartment is well situated and located on a main spoke of the Gettysburg hub. It’s minutes away from city center and the battlefield. It’s clean and comfortable, being able to comfortably accommodate 4 adults.

The location was fabulous. It was withing walking distance of most in-town sites: restaurants, shops, and the Gettysburg National Cemetery. One issue with the property was that it is located on a street with a lot of truck traffic. As in, tractor trailers at 4am. It didn't bother us, but if you're a light sleeper you will have issues. The property was great, too, with a full kitchen and stove, and two comfortable beds. Much nicer than motel rooms of comparable price. Our one issue was a big one. We did not understand the keypad entry system. It was a simple mistake on our part, and was easily explained. But we could not reach the property owner. It look a couple of hours before he replied, and we almost rebooked. Afterward, communication was great, but confirm the entry process well before you arrive. All in all, we were very satisfied. If we return to Gettysburg, we will look into renting this property again.

Great Location. Reviews are honest.
Location & Cleanliness were pretty perfect. My wife can be picky on these, and she was raving about both. I read the reviews before booking, and most are pretty accurate. You will hear traffic and people by the bedroom windows all night. TV was able to drown most of it out. TV could be on a pivot mount that could pull out from the fireplace. (Small concern) And the bed is tough. I would hope that this doesn't dissuade you from booking here. It really is great to walk everywhere, & explore everything that the town has to offer. Just do I as I did, and understand the few drawbacks that come along with many benefits.

Great location!
Excellent location right in the heart of Gettysburg's downtown area. Just a short walk to all of the restaurants and shops! Very clean, great kitchen for cooking meals, and excellent communication with the property owner. Be aware that this is an older building, so there is some noise from other units and the street that you may experience. All in all, a great stay!

I stayed here during a girls weekend away. It was the perfect size for us (two adults). It was very clean. Toilet paper, paper towels, bedding and bath towels were all there already provided which made things so much easier - I know that isnt always the case with Vrbo rentals. Once we arrived there was a little confusion on how to get in but the owner was easy to get a hold of and walked me through the process with no issues, he was very friendly and polite. I would highly recommend.

Best location possible for a Gettysburg getaway weekend!
We found this apartment to be absolutely perfect. We could walk to everything in town and felt very comfortable and secure in this apartment. The building was historic and cool. The only negative part of the entire stay was that I think the mattress must have been original, from 1863. Travellers with back problems might want to beware. Overall the experience was overwhelmingly positive and I would definitely stay here again.

Great location!
This place was perfect for a few day stay for our anniversary. The location was perfect. So close to everything. The size of the apartment was just right. Even the toilet paper was good quality!! That’s saying something. The only thing they might consider is upgrading the bed. The fitted sheet didn’t stay on with the mattress cover and it wasn’t super comfortable. We will be back though. Such an awesome property.

Perfect location/listing error
We stayed here Labor Day weekend and the location was perfect! The listing however is somewhat misleading. We rented the first floor studio and the second floor two bedroom. First floor was fairly updated except the Queen mattress it was awful! Our backs hurt so bad after the first night we had to go buy an egg crate mattress pad for some support- it didn’t do much! The downstairs outside door has a code to get in however the wood is all broken and rotted around the deadbolt anyone can just push it open. You do not have to enter code or even use a key, this is a huge safety issue. Only thing that prevented us from reporting it was that door leads to the inside door with a code and that deadbolt was working fine. This however should be fixed. The second floor was listed as a 2 bedroom with one queen bed and a set of bunk beds, I had my 4 adult children staying up there. We knew about the bunk beds and were ready to deal with them. When we got there the 2 bedrooms were NOT two bedrooms!! You walk into the Queen bedroom (that has a glass door to the living room) and the bunk bed room is literally INSIDE that bedroom. Another glass door as well. Although this set up may work for a family with small children it became very inconvenient and awkward with 4 adults!! Absolutely no privacy (we had to hang towels over the doors) and people walking through each other’s bedrooms is not ok. At least forewarn guests and fix the listing. Other than these specific issues we had a great time in Gettysburg!

Great location and Great Price
This house is on Baltimore St just two blocks from Lincoln Square. The apartment has large, updated rooms. It is perfect for a couple or a family with one or two small children. We were there for Bike Week and got to watch the bike parade from the front stoop. Parking is ample in the private lot. We would stay here again.

The listing is down town and close to a lot of shopping and civil war cemetery and battlefield. You can walk to a lot of places. However, the apartment was ground floor and new windows would be a great improvement. The apartment was mostly updated except the windows. The windows were old and not double pane. Therefore, a lot of sound came through and the road is in horrible condition so the building shakes when something like a bus or a gravel truck comes through. The bed wasn't very comfortable and the set up is that the living and bedroom are one in the same. So there is a dining table, a day bed or futon and a bed and the tv is mounted on top of a fireplace mantle. But no fire place. The kitchen has an updated sink, however, the handle for the faucet is blocked by the countertop bar so you will only be able to get cold water flowing you will not be able to turn it to any warmer. Maybe if it ran for a really really long time but I doubt it. At first site the place is in an amazing location. So I hate to be negative. But, at least replace the windows. I realize you can't do anything about the building and the shaking. But it really needs double pane or something to eliminate a lot of the street noise.

Perfect location only a 2 minute drive from the hospital and a couple minute walk to many local restaurants, coffee shops, etc., easy and accessible parking in the back, felt like a safe area never noticed any unusual activity around the house, I worked all night shifts and even though the bedroom is right off the main road I didn’t have any issues with sleeping during the day. Pete and Ben were very responsive and helpful when needed!

This place has easy access to downtown Gettysburg, and is very clean. However, our unit's proximity to a main highway's intersection a few feet away did not make for sound sleeping. I would suggest ear plugs be made available or perhaps new windows and thick drapes could cut the noise level. This issue detracts from the overall cleanliness and easy access.

Overall AWESOME time!
The property I stayed in (Unit 2) was just the perfect size! It was very clean, very cute, and just right for what it was needed for. The bathroom blind could've been a bit longer as there is an inch or so gap from the bottom of the windowsill, however that's really the only problem I ran into. However, the property owners and/or manager may want to look into their permits oand whatnot into the requirements for their property being used for VRBO as I received a notice (presumed to be from the Adam's County Sheriff's Department) stating I was trespassing on private property and my vehicle would be towed should I remain there any longer, even when parking in my designated numbered spot for the unit I was renting. Otherwise, wonderful time and would definitely recommend! I'll be back for sure.

Needs to be improved!
This place is in a perfect location! And communication was quick. We have stayed in VRBO locations many places in the US and in Europe. This place had the least amount of kitchen items of any place that we have stayed. There were no nice little touches to make it homey.The problem is that the owner has put as little as possible into decorating and providing what is needed. They told us the last renter took the curtains down. What really happened is that the curtain rods are not installed correctly and keep falling down. The curtains really did not fit the window. My husband put them back up several times because we needed privacy and the light blocked. The air conditioner makes a buzzing noise which woke us up and we were told it was the pump. After the first night we were just told to change the mode and that would fix the problem. It did not! It made it where there was no air conditioning just a fan so that made it hot! The owner came to town and wanted to come on our last night to fix the air conditioner but we just said forget it. There is only 1 wine glass, one frying pan which is small, no shower liner. It’s like they did as little as possible to make this place really nice. It would not take a lot to make this a great place…..until then, I would not recommend it.

The location is PERFECT!! Right downtown and close to everything... park, eating, enjoyment!!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The apt was the perfect size... clean and freshly renovated to be up to date but still give you the quaint feel! Loved the location!! Walking distance to everything!! You feel like you are part of the town😊 Ben (host) was very thorough on his communication!! Very nice to work with. Would definitely come back and stay again at the Martin’s apt.
