High recommend
Gjogv is such a beautiful small village with some great hiking, and I was very happy with my stay at this hotel. Very clean and breakfast was excellent, with the added bonus of having an on-site restaurant for lunch and dinner.

The guesthouse is in a nice quaint town, close to a hike where you can see puffins. There is a restaurant onsite, which has tasty food (although portions are small and price is high). The breakfast spread is excellent. The staff are friendly and it is overall clean. However, we were in the twin room downstairs (level 1), and it felt like a dormitory. It was lifeless, and the bathroom was so small and everything became wet, as there is no separation between the shower and toilet.

A really lovely spot. The hotel is simple but has everything you need. All of the staff I communicated with was lovely. My waiter was especially nice. The food was very good! Comfortable, unpretentious and perfect after a day of exploring. Not to mention the location, the town is beautiful and you can see a lot of beautiful nature right from the hotel. Will come back!

Nice guesthouse with excellent culture night
This is a nice guesthouse in this beautiful village. The breakfast was excellent. It has a very nice cultural event night once a week. I enjoyed it! It was excellent with good experience about the Faroese food and culture. The only issue was that my single person room was too small.

We had a wonderful stay at this remote hotel. The accommodations were stunning, and the view from nearby hikes were nothing short of spectacular. The dinner, though spendy, was delightful. Just note, there is very little in and near Gjogv. So come for the scenery and stay for the lovely hotel, but bring snacks with you!

We had a wonderful stay at the Guesthouse in Gjogv. We enjoyed the meals which had great food and friendly service. We had a new unit in one of the properties located a few houses away from the main guesthouse, but it was a quick walk between the buildings for meals. While we only stayed for one night, our time in Gjogv was among our favorite - there is a fantastic hike near the guesthouse which includes stunning views from above and a totally unique and beautiful rock formations below. We went late at night and enjoyed brilliant colors in the sky as the sun was setting somewhere nearby. Hosts are very friendly and accommodating, we needed 4 copies of travel documents printed and it was no problem.

Lovely room with a great view.
We had a lovely deluxe double room with a marvellous view of the hillside out one window and the village, ocean and islands on the other. Perfect. We would prefer to have a divider or shower curtain in the bathroom. We had a delicious meal in the guesthouse restaurant, expensive but delectable.

Enkle værelser, i ældre bygninger, restaurant i samme bygning, enkel men ok morgenmad. Aftensmad alt andet en enkel, den var lækker og dyr. Vi spiste på guesthouset en aften, grunden til at vi herefter valgte det fra var en åbningstid mellem 18-20, med en del ventetid på maden, med andre ord betaler man en hel del for mad der skal spises på kort tid. Kl. 20 bliver loftlyset tændt og måltid/vin skal afsluttes. Guesthouset var behjælpelige med at lade os lave tidlig morgenmad, for serveringen åbnede, til at tage med på afrejsedag. Beliggenhed super, lille hyggelig by med god mulighed at se Puffins i maj måned.

Til prisen var det ret dyrt, og det virker til at stedet lukrerer på at være eneste overnatningssted/spisested i området. Menuen er desværre uden vegetar eller vegansk muligheder, men jeg fik af vide at de da godt kunne få klokken til at lave "er eller andet", men med de priser der fremgår af menu kortet, så kunne dette uspecificeret "et eller andet" nemt gå hen og blive ret dyrt. Venlig modtagelse ved ankomst og ifm check ind. Værelset bestod af 2 enkelt senge, med yderligere 2 senge hængende på væggene. Nok ikke ideelt for familie med højdeskræk. Døren til badeværelse kunne kun lige akkurat åbnes, hvis jeg skubbede til, da den stødte mod vasken. Morgenmaden var ret kedelig, og uden nogen former for varme/lune retter, herunder ingen æg i nogle former (som jeg ellers oplever der er på selv billigere hoteller/overnatningssteder). Det er ikke et sted jeg kommer til at overnatte igen, og selve området omkring Gjogv kan man nemt opleve på et par timer/en halv dag, og køre videre til et andet sted med flere overnatningsmuligheder og spise muligheder.

The booking and check-in went easy, quite clean and tidy room. Unfortunally we didn’t know that you also have to book for a table at the restaurant in the evening. The restaurant was fully booked and we had to drive back to Eidi. I will recommend to stop at Rose’s café & restaurant for a meal before driving all the way to Gjòv.

A comfortable stay with an amazing view
Gjogvs only (?) hotel is situated with a beautiful view of the village itself and facing the island Kalsoy. The rooms (at least the ones in the main building) are not very pretty, think dorm room, but they are comfy and clean. This evening, the restaurant food and service was below our expectations, but they solved this by not charging for our meal, which was a really nice gesture and a good handling of the situation.

Overall good
The overall stay was good. The hotel was clean and we had an amazing view from our room. I would give 10 out of 10 for the breakfast. What we think that can be improved is 1) the bathroom was too small and the door could not close properly. We are a couple but i think if two people that are not a couple it would not be comfortable 2) we booked a table for dinner and the food was very good but for the price the serving was not professional enough

Friendly down to Earth service and good restaurant on site (a bit pricy, but very nice!). Basic quite small rooms in main building, but clean and good beds with great duvets. Recommend staying here, would be good base for some longer hikes too, really beautiful surroundings.

Rigtig fint enkelt sted. Værelserne er små og vi havde ikke udsigt fra værelset. Dog er der meget rent og for at være et vandrehjem, så var det bedre end forventet. Fin og enkel morgenbuffet og en hyggelig restaurant om aftenen, dog er priserne her en del til den høje side. Vi nød vores ophold, og specielt servicen og imødekommenheden fra de unge mennesker der arbejdede på stedet bør fremhæves som noget positivt.

Et dejligt ophold på Gjaargardur Guesthouse Gjogv
Havde et dejligt ophold på Gjaargardur Guesthouse Gjogv. Værelser ligger i stueplan og har dejlig udsigt over landskabet omkring hotellet. Restauranten på 1. sal har endnu bedre udsigt og det serveres dejlig mad. Værelset var lidt slidt, men rent. Særligt badeværelset trænger til en kærlig hånd, døren kunne f.eks. ikke lukkes da den stødte mod håndvasken.

Tourist Trap
Ett riktigt tourist trap. Inte ett dugg mysigt. Rum helt OK efter protest det rum vi först blev anvisade ett riktigt dåligt rum. Bad att få titta på middagsmenyn. Middag serverades kl 18.00-19.30. Vi kom 18.15. Idag har vi buffé och Du får inte komma förrän kl 19.00. Först skall gruppen äta. Det löste sig så småningom vi fick beställa enligt menyn. Kändes inte som de ville ha andra turister än grupper

We had a great stay at the guesthouse. Due to corona, they only had two couple’s staying (us included) and the staff were very helpful and accommodating. The guesthouse is very cosy and provides a very calm and relaxed atmosphere which perfectly matches the experience of visiting Gjógv.
