Crown Spa Hotel Scarborough by Compass Hospitality
6/10 Okay
"Restaurant food could be a lot better with a few healthy options added to the menu. Entrance in from car park is very tired and not welcoming
I was unable to separate out drinks from food onto separate bills. This is a requirement from my company"
"breakfast menu was ok but when i ordered a sausage mushroom and egg sandwich i literally got 1 egg 1 sausage and 1 mushroom on dry bread it was not good "
The Clarence Gardens Hotel, BW Signature Collection
10/10 Excellent
"We stayed last Saturday for a long overdue break away. The staff (all of them) go above and beyond for everything.. whether a couple of extra tea bags or general queries at reception. Our room was immaculate and looking out over the sea and so very peaceful. We left feeling rested and although we had never stayed over night in Scarborough, both my husband and I said we would book another break very soon simply based on bring a wonderful experience. "
"First would like to say. We checked into a beautifully finished room. The room itself was excellent but the view was not so good.
I asked at the reception desk and had a very nice understanding interaction with the lady in charge. We were offered alternative rooms with amazing views, it was explained that these rooms were not yet refurbished but were available and if we found them preferable we could choose . We chose a room with a great view, very happy with the room even before its refurbished yes it wasnt perfect but this was explained the view was worth it and would love the same room after the refurbishment is finished as the fit and finish of the original room was very good quality. All staff were exellent and always willing to help. Great place . Highly recommend."
"We found this hotel to be very well ran,
Clean very 5 star.
Great well trained staff, don't take room service this was very poor.
The room was perfect with every amenity.
Cleaning on request, very comfortable
VERY WHEELCHAIR UNFRIENDLY STEPS AT EVERY TURN, NO RAMPS OF ANY KIND. WE HAD TO ENTER BY THE BACK DOOR.
THIS WAS VERY Disappointing."
"The room was very comfortable and the staff very friendly . Breakfast was good but the evening meals ( both pizza and the main restaurant were disappointing and a bit expensive for what we got ) . Also the water temperature for the bath in our room was not hot enough - the shower was OK but not for a bath ."
"My friend and I had a girlie two night break at this hotel and loved it. When we arrived the receptionist noticed I was using a walking aid and unprompted started looking to change our room to an accessible room eliminating needing to use stairs. We were very touched by his thoughtfulness. It was an upgrade to a suite which was outstanding and it really enhanced our comfort and experience.
We had a sitting room (with verandah) which was very comfortable and well equipped with a coffee maker, selection of high quality teas. There was a large bathroom and a super king size bed.
Breakfast was nice, not outstanding but nice. The swimming pool was the big treat. Beautifully warm and the highlight of the stay. All the staff were very cheerful and friendly. This hotel is special and situated next to the Market Square which had lovely coffee shops, quaint shops and enticing pubs. Can’t wait to go back so thank you to all the staff especially Ali xxxxxx"
"I experienced some discomforts, the toilet roll holder fell from the wall, the hot tap knob for the shower broke off in my hand and the shower connections were leaking badly, the overall cleanliness of the carpets and floors was very poor ,and it looked like they hadn't been vacuumed or mopped for a long time, and many stains were visible on the floors, the heating system was faulty in my room and was not adjustable, it was often too hot, I had to open windows to regulate temperature,in general the room was grubby, though the bed linen, towels, and tea coffee provisions was good."
"Such a friendly homely place to stay. The village itself is beautiful with plenty of individual shops, the people are friendly
The food at the Feathers is excellent, good choice and perfectly cooked.
We will be going back soon for our umpteen visit"
